Our stay at Riad 53 was the absolute highlight of our time in Fes. From the moment we stepped off the bustling streets and through the unassuming wooden door, we were transported into a tranquil, architecturally stunning oasis.
The Service & Flexibility: While the Riad is beautiful, the hospitality is what truly sets it apart. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating when we had to make last-minute changes to our booking. Instead of the stress you usually expect with travel adjustments, the management handled everything with grace and made us feel completely at ease. It’s rare to find a place that prioritizes the guest’s experience so highly.
The Location: You couldn't ask for a better spot. It is located just a few minutes' walk from Bab Bou Jeloud (the Blue Gate), making it incredibly easy to find. Being so close to the main entrance meant we could explore the souks all day but easily find our way back to our sanctuary without getting lost.
The Atmosphere & Rooms: The Riad itself is a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and decorated with intricate tilework and carved cedarwood. The central courtyard is peaceful and serves as the perfect spot to decompress with a glass of mint tea.
The Verdict: If you want the perfect blend of traditional Moroccan charm and modern comfort, look no further. The breakfast on the rooftop—with its panoramic views of the ancient city—is the cherry on top. We can’t wait to return!

This is my second stay here. This time, I extended my stay two additional nights for a total of five days. This is because the manager and staff provide a warm, spotlessly clean and very comfortable environment. We feel very welcome here, and it’s like coming home. Also, the chef is excellent and we truly enjoyed our chicken tagine dinner. Additionally, the breakfast is excellent and the rooftop provides a panoramic view of the city. All of this allowed us to rest peacefully. Sending our many thanks to Hiba, the mgmt and staff for their gracious hospitality. We will be back!!!

We stayed here for two nights and found it the perfect location for exploring the medina for the first time. It’s easy to reach popular sights like the Blue Gate and the souks, while still being close to a street accessible by car, making it easy to get to the riad by taxi. The room was clean and had been recently renovated in a traditional Moroccan style. The included breakfast was generous and tasty.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. We had requested a room with two twin beds and we got a room on the terrace. Wish the weather was warmer to have breakfast at the terrace. The time was quiet and was spacious. There’s a lot of stairs to climb, however. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Osama (not sure about the spelling) was such a wonderful person who packed us breakfasts couple of times as we had early day tours organized. He gave some helpful tips and was very friendly. He definitely made a huge difference to our stay. Rating is 4 star because the bathroom drain was clogging from time to time and also, we had ordered a cab for pick up from the train station at night but no one showed up. It didn’t affect us much as we took a taxi till the blue gate. The Riad is just 5 min away from the gate. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The Riad is very very nice and closed to the main gate so you cannot get lost trying to to find it. The staff is super nice and the room perfectly clean. I stayed in a solitaire ai gle room with aingle bed. Ia very small but has anything and the most important is clean. The breakfast is very good and the whole Riad very nice. Highly recommended!

Perfect place to stay in Fes
Very well located in the Medina, yet completely tranquil. With a beautiful pool inside the courtyard, it was truely a lovely place to stay.

Great location and amazing staff!

Downs were the room can’t close off completely from reception area so the light and noise aren’t good at night. The pillows are also sprayed with something smelly that gives you a headache. The AC also didn’t really cool the room at all even though it was on 17.

The food is good if not great, but it is reasonably priced. Best of all though, and the reason for coming, is the view. There are two floors of seating with views over the Blue Gate, the medina, and surrounding areas. It's incredible at any time and well worth a visit.

Go here for the view and simply accept the food. The food is not great, nor is it bad. Reasonably priced. The view is great! Entrance is in a little alley and you have to walk the stairs to the top to reach the restaurant.
