La Maison Maure in Fes

AVOID! We arrived late at night and the owner was polite enough to prepare us a meal. We ordered a bottle of water, 1 mint tea and a small vegetable tagine - which was literally the smallest tagine we got served in the whole Marocco. We were charged 150 Dirhams (it was not a menu)!! Total scam. We tried to lower the price but the owner got angry with us so we paid and left quickly. You can find very good full menus for 70Dirh in any restaurant near the blue Gate. Avoid, it's not worth it!

Small and good located restaurant which gave us a really bad experience on our trip through this lovely country.

The staff is friendly but the portions are very small and the taste is nothing special.
Every menu is 150DH, which is a lot for this kind of restaurants in Marokko but the food wasn't worth it at all. It seemed to us as if the meals were not freshly prepared but heated up.

I wouldn't recommend this place.

It's not a restaurant

First of all, this is not a restaurant as it is listed here. Second, the owner and his brother are money hungry people.
I had one of the worst experiences with these people. I had a deal to rent 2nd floor room with owners brother after hardly finding this place. He offered us ground floor room where his brother's wife and infant daughter were already accommodated for less price. Even though he told us that he will relocate them, we didn't feel good with this scenario and made a deal for second floor room in the afternoon. Afterwards, I told him that I'll leave to bring my luggage from other hotel. On arriving in the evening with 3 big bags, 2 small bags, 4 yo old son and wife, the owner took us through the steep ascend to the place just to inform us that the second floor room was booked by someone else and they have prepared some other room for us. This was extremely disappointing and ridiculous to me, specifically because I dragged my entire family through heat and burden of luggage to find out that the owner made a fool out of me.
On my way back, I saw the owners brother who tried to apologize for the inconvenience while escorting the other group to the hotel. This all happened to me because of stupid greed of these two brothers.
