It’s a very old property right in the centre of tamel. If you are planning to take your car I would advise to take a cab before entering Thamel and guide your car to the hotel. Hotel was in a very cold and humid location and its rooms were very dark. Bathroom sink's drain was broken, so water was flowing all over the bathroom floor. And there was no facility for Hot water. Kathmandu is a stressful city with a sad underbelly. At the Green Horizon, you're removed from it all and greeted with a cheerful smile every day. I got a lovely room with balcon, big bathroom and booked three days straight away. Also the food in the restaurant is cheap and delicious. Green Horizon is a place to relax. Would come back every time.

I had a super stay at the AmarHotel! The warmth and genuine friendliness of the staff made me feel welcome from the very first moment. The staff here was very friendly and professional, and eager to help me plan my trip in Nepal however they could. They even sent over a tour organizer to show me different options on hiking the ABC or EBC treks, and when I told him I probably would be going without a guide, he was very friendly and put no pressure on me, and even let me keep his maps!
