The floor in the shower was marble so it was very slippery and unsafe. There were no handrails in the shower to hold on to steady oneself on the slippery marble floor. Breakfast choices were many. My friend and I booked room for 2 people but we got double room … with 1 big bed and 2 single beds, so both of us had more privacy, which was a nice surprise. The hotel was centrally located,3 min away from the Metro station BOLHAO,also 2 min away from Caterina shopping centre , Mercado do Bolhao and The church of Santa Caterina.You could walk to almost every tourist site.Room was clean,very basic and b'fast was also very basic,but it was ok Would gladly book again if in Porto.we got our money's worth for sure.Must not forget the staff,which were very helpful...

Staying at Castelo Santa Catarina was a charming experience, a classic castle full of character and beautiful details. However, the breakfast was average, and the Wi-Fi signal was weak even near the reception. Also, there are many stairs, so it’s not very accessible.

I had a wonderful stay at the ibis Porto Centro Mercado do Bolhão. The hotel was very clean, the service excellent, and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, and everything is easily accessible. The air conditioning wasn't working on the first evening, but it was fixed immediately. Highly recommended! ⭐️

We love the location, close to markets, bolhao metro 5 min, bigger train station for intercity Porto São Bento 15 min walk. We walked everywhere for foods, shopping & sightseeing. The rooms were minimalist & functional. Beds and the room temperature were comfortable. Hotel looks clean inside the room & hallways. Staffs were friendly & helpful.

This is a pretty standard business hotel. The cleanliness and convenience were both excellent, but they didn't offer any complimentary water or snacks.

The hotel was spotless, and the staff was very friendly on the day of the power outage. The room was quite spacious, except there was barely enough room to walk between the footboard and the wall. Everything else was fantastic!

In general the hotel is very good. You have to sort out the good and the bad, the good thing is its location on a main street but out of the crowd, the breakfast is very rich and varied. The bad thing is that although it was clean there was humidity in the room and when you passed it you had to breathe normally.

The air conditioning did not work well, the person in charge did not give us a solution, we spent about two hours trying to maintain a pleasant temperature and at two in the morning we had to sleep somehow, with the temperature not so pleasant, the room was well organized and clean but with this temperature detail, the experience was ruined, the included breakfast was good.

It was in a good location close to the city centre with lots of historical sites. The space was a very big for 5 people and there were three separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The only downside is that it's a walk up the hill and that the walls are very thin so that you can hear other people in other rooms and the elevator very loudly.

Hotel was conveniently located in the centre. Easy walking distance to popular sites. The staff were also really friendly and helpful with recommendations. Beds were very comfy. Only thing was that the toilet, while massive, had a not so well designed shower area where the water would spill outside. A curtain could help.

Air conditioning is off at night due to the cold weather so the windows have to be open letting mosquitoes in. Very noisy day and night from construction and party goers. Barely had a wink of sleep.

Overall, it's very good. The location is very good. It's very convenient to go everywhere. It's very close to the train station. You can also take a taxi to the door. However, it's a bit noisy in the middle of the night and there is construction noise in the morning.

I was able to find parking easily on the street but the hotel has a parking garage (for fee). The room was comfortable and clean; breakfast was varied and delicious (fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cereal, pastries, ham, cheeses, breads and croissants). Coffee was good. We had breakfast in the courtyard which was really nice and quiet. Historic district was an easy walk away. I would stay there again...

Close to Mercado Bohlao Andrea was very nice and helpful during check in and everything. Also, the ladies at breakfast and the man that helped me get a late check out as I was not feeling my best. Room was comfortable, everything was clean and the garden is really pretty.

The hostess was super nice. We were able to leave our luggage with her and walk around the city. When we came back, she had brought our luggage in the room which was very nice of her. The room was very spacious and clean and the place was central to everything we wanted to see. There was a Spar right across the street which was very convenient too.

Overall a great find in Porto! Very comfortable, practical amenities in the room, keyless entry, a strong AC unit that worked well in summer heat, and located on a quieter street that was still near much daytime/nighttime things.

Perfect location, good service; Room is not spacious, although the Triple room we have can accommodate 3 people without feeling overcrowded, just tight. Did not try their breakfast, as we prefer to try different food every morning, and there are many options around the hotel.

Excellent location in the center of the city, near train and metro station, no drinking water, soap and shampoo inside the room, bring your own amenities, the weak point is the hotel reception is on the first floor and no elevator from ground floor to first floor (but between floor inside hotel, the elevator is available).

Probably the best European hotel my mom and I have stayed in. The reception was lovely, accommodating, and so friendly. Everything was great about the hotel; cleanliness, location & vibes were on point. And a discount on the taxi they call to take you to the airport! Great place for plays, musicals, ballets and, concerts. Small venue, all seats are great and the acoustics are awesome.

Wonderful 20 year anniversary show by Os Azeitonas. Started just a bit after 21h and finished at about 00h10!!! The venue is a little old and shows its age in spots, but the acoustics and the crowd were all great! The staff were very helpful as well.

There is little space between seats which makes it uncomfortable especially during hot nights. It could do with a refurb. Only one bar opened for the show so we couldn't get a drink. At least some vending machines would be helpful. Needs some tlc as it looks tired with cracks on walls and ceiling. Besides that the Russell Howard was great.

We took our children to see the circus here. It was a very entertaining time with quality acrobatics. The clowns were entertaining, if a little drawn out. The seats were comfortable and you can see the action from anywhere.

I arrived around 7 a.m. and thought they wouldn't be able to store my luggage, but they were kind enough to open the door and even let me store my luggage! The price was reasonable, and the facilities were clean, so I had a great rest! There was even an elevator and a bathtub! It was the best value for money. The location wasn't bad either.

My stay in Santa Clara do Porto, it was very good, the reception was great and fast. The room have amenities basics like and a good cleaning.

It's about a 5-minute walk up a slight hill from Bolhão Station. Near Bolhão Station, there are restaurants, souvenir shops, and other travel essentials, as well as Bolhão Market and the Almas Cathedral, making it the perfect base for sightseeing! It was a little disappointing that there was no hairdryer or refrigerator, but we were very satisfied with the cleanliness and hospitality!!

First of, even though the hotel is on one street, we were shown our rooms at another building about 100 meters away. It was an apart hotel, so had everything from a dishwasher to a fully stocked kitchen. But it was also right next to a club, so wasn't quiet. The bottom floor rooms which there are two of, are especially loud since the door to the hotel is missing two windows.

We were directed to a serviced apartment in an adjoining street rather than the main hotel building. This actually had advantages. It was spacious & had a washing machine & microwave.

Single female guest. I went downstairs to get a coffee the first morning as a kettle etc was not included in my room. I was helped by a member of staff to get a coffee before the breakfast opened. Today I came back from my day out to find flowers in my room, plus a kettle, tea & coffee - I didn't ask for this, they just did it. Brilliant! Thank you Hotel Porto Rico, great service! 😍
