Oxford Hotel in Singapore

The first room got cigarette smoke when I first enter the room and the receptionist were cooperatively given me another better room. The room was okay for temporary stay. The location is very good, walking distance to churches, and hawker centre. Unfortunately, this hotel didn’t provide any dental kit.

Only looking for location? Then yes 10/10 for location. But for cleanliness and service, not recommended. Poor hygiene, some hair on the ceiling of the bathroom and the walls are full of black mold . And the curtains are very disgusting. I let trip.com knows about it and they contacted to the hotel then the hotel offered to change to a new room which is slightly better (no mold on the wall) and no bed bugs in the new room, but still bathroom is not as clean as normal hotels should be of this price range. We paid quite a lot for it and not allowed to change booking or cancel so had to stay there.but i would have happily move to different hotel if i can get refund for the rest of my stay apart from the day we had checked in. But nope, no refund so had to stay there the whole trip.

You absolutely cannot beat the Oxford Hotel for location. It is conveniently situated near 3 metro stops and lots of malls, museums and restaurants. If you’re going to spend absolutely all your time out and about and only use the hotel for sleeping then this is a good choice. But… it is not clean. It is not comfortable. And the amenities are not convenient. There are no plug sockets next to the bed - there is one on the corner of the room and you literally have to climb onto the counter to reach it. There is another behind the tv, but the space is disgustingly dirty and full of dust and trash. In the bathroom there are cockroaches and you can see the grime and dirt in the corners where it’s been building up for decades. The room has a carpet that I didn’t want to touch with my bare feet. The curtains don’t close properly. And the AC blasts directly onto the bed and blows your hair in the wind like a supermodel while you are trying to sleep. No matter what temperature you put it on, it is always too cold. It the room is too hot without it. The bathroom smells kind of bad and every time you use the sink you can hear the water gurgling down the drain. The shower is hands down one of the worst I have ever experienced in my entire life.

The bathroom was not properly cleaned, and bottled water was not provided.
