Aplend Aparthotel Belveder, Tatranská Lomnica in Tatranska Lomnica

The “Bel Hostel” is not really a hostel, it’s two rooms in the basement of a hotel with only tiny dark windows and squeaky doors to the rooms that also slam loud when you close them. Seriously the doors are so loud when you open and close them, you immediately wake up everyone in both rooms, because they are also not sound proofed at all. The carpet, though it has a forgiving brown color, is covered in stains. And there have been bread crumbs for days when I was there, so it doesn’t get vacuumed either.

Furthermore there aren’t any power outlets or personal lights at the beds, you literally have to lay your cable across the room. And if you need some light, you need to light up the whole room. There aren’t any hooks for your things in the showers or bathrooms in general.

When I arrived the room smelled of old cigarettes and the reception desk lady that showed it to me didn’t even mention it when showing me the room, putting me in the awkward position of having to ask for it. Turns out it was an older man that was staying there and that smoked in the room, but if it’s that noticeable why can’t the staff just lean into it and mention it and apologize for it proactively?

The sauna and whirlpool is not included, don’t let them trick you, it costs 14 EUR extra per use!

Location was "good," it is right on main road. However you could see the Tatras through small window, if you're lucky with the position of your room. Of course I can't forget about the tripping warning on platfom in front of the Apartments. And if you can't sleep in noise, you can't have open windows. There's near by train crossing and of course the main road traffic.

Attractive pricing, but that's it. The room we stayed at had a lot of dings and scratches, but worst of all, there was really bad smell coming from the bathroom making the whole experience not so nice. The staff said just to run water to get rid of it but that just made it worse. Would most likely not come here again.
