Where to stay in Slovenia

Mostly a hotel for retirement associations and groups with a nice location near various beaches. Solid rooms and food, but nothing special.

The location is close to the beach with a beautiful walk path. Perfect to get a view of sunset. We like to go and stay there in the middle of Spring season where walking along the beach is a ritual of peace and quietness.

The food at this hotel was very abundant and varied. There was free parking, some lovely evening music on a Saturday night, several seawater pools, and a very nice library. We appreciate that the hotels aims to be environmentally friendly, using recycled paper and tissue, minimizing plastic waste by providing large-sized containers of toiletries etc.

I genuinely recommend this hotel for those who wish to explore the Slovene coast, and search for its hidden treasures. It doesn't look like any of this fancy 5-star design hotels out there, but don't let that fool you, because judging this book by its cover would be your mistake. We were there on a tour and felt it was more of a residential care home rather than a hotel. The majority of residents were in there seventies and older. There was live music in the evenings aimed at the older Slovenians. We had half board and that was okay but if you got there later than 7.30 pm, much of the food had gone. The rooms are very nice and modern, the entertainment program is very rich, there are various swimming pools and well equiped dressing room, the food in the restaurant is OK, though not really vegetarian friendly (only if you are OK with salad only). The only not very pleasant aspect is a lady at the restaurant entry: very rude and unkind. Not appropriate for working with people.

The hotel has a great location in the heart of the city, within walking distance of all the sights. The hotel offers parking (21 euros per day), a pool with a sauna, and a gym. There are three bridges right outside the door, and the riverside scenery is picturesque, making it a perfect place for leisure and vacation.

Great hotel located within a pedestrian shopping street area. If you exit the hotel turn left and left at the next street and this will take you directly to the main square in the old town. If you have time schedule a visit to castle and take the train to the top. You can walk up and walk down but be warned it's steep. It’s centrally located, which is easy to roam around the city. Landmarks, bus stops, restaurants and late-nights bars are stone’s throw away. Also, the breakfast was exceptional and with great assortment of food. Lastly, the hotel provides high-quality toiletries.

The hotel is in a great location and has a great bar. The rooms and hallways are undergoing renovation (which is definitely needed!), but no one told us about it when we booked. That was an unpleasant surprise. The mistakes during check-in were resolved by a nice employee at check-out.

The parking fee is very expensive at €21 per day, which isn't mentioned. You drive to a parking garage outside the city center and are taken to the hotel by shuttle. There's also a tourist tax (although you have to be careful how many people the hotel states when billing) of €3.13 per person. In our case, two people, they charged four people.

Our time here was excellent! The hotel looked really nice and the outside view was incredible. The personal was so kind and responsive. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a balcony and a good view. Breakfasts and dinners are also generally OK with plenty of choice. Unfortunately, despite the large number of children, there are no pancakes in the morning and no pasta in the evening, which children love. And swiming pool: openenig hours should be at least until 21 pm.

The price is a bit high, but overall it's good. It's about a 5-minute walk from the lake. I chose a lake view room, but unfortunately I only stayed in the middle and lower floors of the 4th floor, but I could still see part of the lake view. The breakfast was quite rich with many choices.

Not the best place to stay I would say it is closer to a three star rating than it is a four. Food is good but you can tell they are using left overs the day after. I arrived a couple of hours before check in time, but was allowed to check in early and also the friendly receptionist upgraded me to a better room. So first impression was good. The room was very spacious with a view over the city. Breakfast was excellent, I particularly enjoyed the good selection of fresh fruit. The hotel furniture and amenities are quite practical and adequate. The included breakfast is well stocked with good variety. A good place for a lunch, the food is good. The servers are only slow with coming to your table and taking your order. The place itself is spacious and a lot of light enters through the glass roof, so that is very nice. The hotel is perfectly located close to the lake.
