Hotel Gri-Mar in Llanca

It's a likeable place, this family run hotel, with its charming air of faded glory from a bygone glamorous age. I am not sure Llança ever became the hoped-for tourist magnet, but it's a pretty place by the glorious azure of the Med and in the lee of the Pyrenean foothills. The road running by can be a bit noisy but the views from the room balconies are tranquil and lovely.
Two issues mark it down for me. One was the somewhat unambitious kitchen at dinner, with its dull and conventional menu rather boringly cooked. The other was the sheer sparseness of the accommodations. There's nothing in the rooms except for the bare minimum, not even a little complementary bottle of water. I know times are tough, but they really could try just a little bit harder.
On the other hand the staff are lovely, there's ample parking and the breakfast is outstanding.
So, overall, I would come back.
