Hotel Tropical Park in Callao Salvaje

A real mixed bag. We’d read reviews before we booked and felt the good outweighed the bad. This was by no means an awful hotel but its 4 star rating leaves you disappointed, it is definitely more of a mid 3* with some issues. We stayed as a family of 4 (4 & 9 yro children). Cons: - The food is overcooked, bland and cold most of the time with the occasional item that is enjoyable. It’s not awful, it’s edible, but if you like good food this is not the place for you! - despite arriving late at night with a booking for a family the sofa bed was not made up on arrival. When we enquired at reception we were told where the linen was in the room and that we were expected to make the bed -shower was either freezing or boiling - staff were often abrupt and rude - the entertainment “schedule” is more of an idea of what might happen. Do NOT plan your day around its timings/events. -archery is sticky pad kids archery -if you want to use the tennis courts you have to pay €9 each time -lots of the kids equipment/toys were broken -the pools may be heated but they are NOT warm! Pros: -great location, quiet but with some fab places to eat and drink within walking distance. Beautiful walks near by. Close to the airport but not too close. Great spot to explore the island from -hotel was very clean -family suites come with a kitchenette and have plenty of space.
