Big rooms but a litle dated. No air conditioning so very warm on a night. Reception staff not the friendliest but childen entertainers, restaurant staff and cleaners were great.

Absolutely great holiday with family and children. We arrived late night exhausted, and found hotel staff left dinner for us in the fridge - what a caring gesture from hotel, well appreciated. Exceeded our expectations, breakfast and dinner buffet are different everyday. €5 daily charge for parking as we hired a car locally. Easy walk into town downhill. Complementary bottle of wine and water in room on arrival. We would definitely stay here again.

Really like this hotel. It is older, has two buildings, has spacious grounds and is peaceful. It doesn't have air conditioning and is a little bit out of town up a steep hill for those with mobility issues. Very clean, larger rooms, pleasant staff and good value for money.

Room a bit dated (albeit kept clean) and could do with some renovation. Balcony door very stiff and awkward to open resulting in the maid leaving it open when cleaning. Shower head broken but thankfully there was a waterfall rain shower as well, albeit with high pressure. Nice place to stay. The rooms are big, the place is well maintained. When you stay here you will see that it is meant especially for German and Spanish retirees. Also you need to keep in mind that to get to the hotel from the city center, you need to climb a small hill, which may be tiring for some people, but there are free buses going to and from center regularly.

It's old fashioned no frills hotel, with adequate breakfast. Rooms are decent and cleanliness is fine.

Very nice and quaint hotel, priced very reasonably. The rooms were clean and well kept. There is a rooftop swimming pool, a sauna and a gym, plus a private parking lot for a separate price (5€ per day). Also, I feel I have to mention the super friendly and helpful ladies at the reception - thank you for all your support!

For the price you will not find anything better nearby. Food was tasty and everyday something different to choose from. Cleaners do their job really good and stuff at reception was really helpful. There is also a bar in lobby with live music, but its not that loud so you will not hear it in your rooms.

The hotel is well located in Puerto de la Cruz, near pretty much everything. If you're coming by car, you might find a spot in the old bus station, right next to the hotel, or ask for one of the 10 spaces in the hotel parking lot (for a fee). The reception staff and the breakfast were my favorite parts of this hotel. The reception area, bar, and restaurant look newly renovated but the rooms were a bit dated. I presume they will renovate the rooms next. Nonetheless, my room was very clean.

We had an amazing experience at the hotel. They have a great costumer service. Super friendly staff and they look really satisfied on their job. All really helpful as well. The room was very clean also the common areas on the terrace by the swimming pool. Nice and diversified buffet. The location also is great. I do recommend and for sure I would be back.

It might be 5 stars, but we dont like windows from the room. When you look through them, you gonna clearly see your neighborhood in room.

The room was ok, the rooms are outdated and the bedframes not clean. A cockroach was found dead in my room and it wasn't cleaned the next morning, it was under the bed and the cleaner missed it. The positives are the staff, the location, the price, having a fridge plus a desk where you could work complete other activities such as maybe applying make-up or something.

This is a wonderful hotel. Full stop. The more most beautiful interior in Puerto. A place that is obviously loved by its management and staff. Very nice, clean hotel. Its old and the rooms are outdated but I think making it modern would destroy whole atmosphere of the hotel. My room had way too small bathtub and the balcony was facing a wall. Cleaner comes every morning to ask if you need a clean, if you dont put the "do not disturb" tag or you dont talk to cleaner to inform them to not clean the room, they will enter your room anyway. It's an excellent family-type, international hotel with friendly personnel. The all inclusive concept is of great value, good choice of foods and beverages. Beds are fine. Rooms are indeed reasonably clean and spacious, and many with terrace. We used the package deal by TUI. Otherwise, the hotel might be a bit pricey.

Myself and a friend booked this as a last minute holiday to get some well needed sun. I ve been in this hotel first time in 1992. Now in 2025 i came back to see my favourite hotel from the past and i still love it. This is our 4th time at this hotel and love it here. Food is really good, we are here on a 2 week all inclusive so expect it to get a bit repetitive but quality was great, especially breakfast . Friendly helpful staff! Travelled with husband and father and we all had a lovely stay. Really impressed with variety of choices at each mealtime and staff were superb. Special mention for the young lady who organised entertainment. Her enthusiasm and energy were amazing.

On overall this is a great value/ cost hotel. For 60€ we got a one night in a room with a view to the mountains, and two buffet breakfasts. The hotel has a great outdoor space with an amazing swimming pool. Additionally, you can get your bus ticket from the hotel to Puerto de la cruz refunded so the distance is not really an issue! Please note this is a 3 star hotel so do not expect certain amenities...

Decent quality hotel. Actually best you could get at this price. Good service, clean. Spectacular ocean view from the rooms. Food is OK and again, best they could do at this price. We are happy. We are here mainly among older group of Germans but that makes no problem to us at all.

The room was nice, spacious, with kitchen, balcony and a shower. Breakfast was nice too, enough dishes to pick from. Dinner was pretty good aswell. The price was completely fine for local standarts and I got a bit more than I even paid for maybe during my 3 days stay of resting. Everything just worked. I don't think this place deserves less than 4 stars. If I would be about to give a bit of a feedback...

The highest level of service and kindness from all of the staff, from front desk and restaurant to the cleaning staff. We felt so welcome, and they helped us with lots of questions and inquiries with a smile. Food in the buffet was good and varied. And of course a good location.

Our stay on the seventh floor with a balcony was comfortable and easily accessible. Maybe the room was slightly small for a couple but the large balcony made up for it. There was a fair selection of food at the buffet breakfast but not ideal for a vegetarian.

I can say that if you want to travel in Santa Cruz de Tenerife you need to choose Occidental. They are the best, I WAS satisfied from all points of view, nothing to add. Staff very friendly, servicies very good, high quality of food/drinks, yes, the best.

You couldn't wish for a better base in the capital city Santa Cruz than the Occidental Contemporaneo. The hotel offered great service, excellent value for money with super staff. The daily breakfast was delicious and set you up for a day exploring the city!!

Can't think of anything bad to say about the place. Had stayed in a few different rooms at castle harbour. I had a broken leg and was using a wheelchair and mobility scooter and there was no problem getting around in either of them. The only real bad part. No washing machines had been available in the apartments I was in, though they did have facilities available within the hotel.

Went to look at an apartment at castle Harbour unfortunately not right for us but had spectacular views, up at the top of the hill! parts of pavements did not have mobility dropped pavements on one side of road so not suitable for someone with mobility issues. Castle harbour apartments does have a ramp for access and a lovely bright reception area, lifts are small and corridors were a little confusing...

Our apartment had what we needed to put our heads down. Had to buy to lend a hairdryer for the week. Book disabled accessible accommodation in advance & double check before departure. Booked with Hays Travel but when we arrived 1) they did not know I was a wheelchair user, told us that Hays Travel did not inform them 2) we had to wait 3 days for a better accessible room 3) my wheelchair could not fit...

Great apartment that we stayed in Wi-fi was fairly slow but for free who can complain tv and the tech in there was all brilliant would definitely go again could do with a lick of paint here and there and some maintenance on stiff locks. Can’t complain at that though

Ideal location, center. Nearby is the port, cruise terminal. Ideal for cruisers to stay. The bus station is also nearby, 15 min. Walk. Standard breakfasts, you won't go hungry. The only downside of the hotel is the soundproofing.

Top Location on the Beach. In the center of all activities. Good clean rooms, friendly personnel. Good food. Take a balcony room and look to the vast Atlantic Ocean.

San Telmo is full of restaurants and bars where you can spend a nice afternoon with you friends having a nice meal and looking at the incredible sunset. You can also have a walk through San Telmo and visit, for example, la Ermita.

In love with the view from the room!

The apartments are well serviced and run by a very friendly and approachable team. They respond super quick. However, the build of the apartments means that you can hear just about everything in the adjacent ones. That's the only downside.

I have really enjoyed my time here. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast has been really good, although after 5 days could do with some different choices. Very close to the town centre and seafront. Many restaurants and bars close by. There is a lovely roof top area with a small pool, sun loungers and umbrellas. Fantastic place to stay in Puerto de la Cruz. Pretty beautiful and functional rooms. The ones with terrace are pretty convenient to enjoy the freshness of the afternoon. The reception place I could say looks nice and the evening stuff were super friendly, can't say the same about morning stuff... But the room... Okay the blankets and surrounding lets say were clean, just atmosphere of some broken and fixed furniture and the bath full of scratches... In the room can find two different sizes towels and shower kit. Really bad thing is that the WiFi works just in recepcion...

I knew the hotel since a number of years. The new management start a renovation campain last year. Rooms getting better. The toproof bar with a fantastic view is now completly new as SkyBar Lounge. Enjoy the sundowner with a cocktail.

Very lovely stay, great location and friendly staff My only criticism is we asked for a double bed but only for 2 signals

The room was not ready before 16.00 and there was no luggage room. We had to wait in the lobby for 50min even though the receptionist said 20-30min. When we got the keys the room was still in cleaning. Everything else at our stay was smooth.

Good value for money. Meticulously clean. Central to everything. The tower accommodation offered great views. I would stay here again.

Perfect location, close to beaches and a neighborhood with a great night life. Amazing swimming pool with sunbathing area. The hotel also has sport facilities. Our apartment was spacious and clean. The small kitchen was fully furnished and we had two fridges. There is some free parking space around the building but it might be a bit hard to find a free spot during the evening.
