Great hotel excellent service and food

Had a good stay once again, Booked a week in the up experience and that suited us perfectly. Premium drinks and quality food from 10am till 6pm perfect. It’s very chilled and relaxing up on the roof and you get the sun all day when it pops over the mountain. The room was ok if a little tired, for the premium price I would expect the rooms to be a little more upgraded. The only difference between the up rooms and standard rooms are a coffee machine and a good sea view, that’s it. Also if any management are reading this you really need some insulation between the party walls as you can hear everything from the other rooms incredibly clear. Unfortunately we had the world coughing champion next to us who liked to get up at 06.30 every morning and start. The hotel would not have any insulation when built so it would be nice to have soundproofing sorted out. The transfer service that the hotel uses now is awful. You used to get a taxi transfer which was perfect now it’s a shared minibus from a company called sierra y Gonzales and they are awful. On both transfers our names were not on the list and the people running sierra y Gonzales are rude unhelpful and arrogant, a small bloke with an attitude and chip on his shoulder telling us your not on the list your not getting on the bus even though it’s half empty. When we missed the bus back to Tfs because we wasn’t on the list the reception guy was as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, didn’t want to know. Not the sort of problem solving I expect from this hotel. Apart from that inconvenience it’s a great hotel with a brilliant buffet breakfast and dinner. Evening entertainment was good with a good variety of different acts. If you want to see something different Rod Stewart & Elvis are on at Charley’s bar on the roundabout. Enjoy

My partner and I stayed at this hotel through Tui, half board in a twin room with sea/ pool view. On check in we were given a 2nd floor room and on asking for a higher floor we were then allocated a room on the third floor. We chose to hire the room safe which was. €3 a day. The room was spotlessly clean, as was everywhere else in the hotel. The beds were a bit on the firm side but comfortable enough. The shower was a large walk in one with a rain shower head and was excellent. The room was very quiet and we hardly heard the people in adjoining rooms. The hotel was not full and we always managed to get a sun bed every day.. The drinks were very reasonable, for example, the draught Amstel was €4.40 a glass. There was a comprehensive selection of food at both breakfast and dinner. At breakfast, chefs were freshly cooking omelettes, eggs and bacon. At dinner the chefs were cooking meats and fish and also at a pasta station. There were also portions from a joint of meat or salmon that a chef would serve to you. Overall, the food was excellent but with one major drawback; it was never hot. The best you would normally achieve would be “fairly warm”. However, there was a microwave which was put to good use. Although the plates by the hot food stations are warmed, by the time you have filled your plate with vegetables etc and returned to your table, your meal will have cooled down even more. The staff in the dining room were all lovely and very efficient and friendly. A big shout out here to Juanjo who was always welcoming and made our mealtimes fun. For entertainment, the piano bar was always decent and we really enjoyed the Spanish Beatles on Sunday evening. We appreciated using the spa a few times and also called in at the hotel’s shopping mall. However, I did feel sorry for the shop staff as the mall seemed to be rarely visited by the guests. Negatives? The bathroom towels were a bit thin and one was even threadbare. We also had pool towels that had been patched and darned. The men on reception were not particularly welcoming. The aforementioned warm food situation. Our biggest negative however were the guests. With few exceptions, they all seemed unfriendly and miserable. Maybe it’s because the majority were so old or infirm.. wheelchairs, walkers, mobility scooters, crutches. Or maybe they were a bunch of curmudgeons………..

The hotel is very impressive upon arrival it looks like a marble paradise . The whole place is spotlessly clean and room service is spot on, with maids who leave your room immaculate. Pool and outside area is great and the pool is really warm, meaning you can get straight in without shivering unlike most. Rooms are good and all have sea views and beds provide sleep harmony. Food is outstanding and offers good choices especially in the evening and you will eat like a king during your visit. One thing was an issue, they charge for water for evening meal. I expect water , even just a glass to be included when I’ve paid for food in advance. That said the hotel does all they can to accommodate you and solve any issues. Entrainment could be improved with more day time fun by the pool side with some games as after water aerobics that’s it. Evening entertainment again is tribute bands, who were good but I prefer a disco or at least both. Entertainment staff member Virginia is good and a true professional. The hotel has a gym, the best one Ive ever seen in any hotel and they do classes. Overall this is a spectacular hotel with wow factor and out of this world food. First time at the Arona Grand , first impressions was excellent with a seamless check in , was allocated room 449 , amazing sea and pool views , room was very good , great idea to have water dispenser on every floor . Food option at breakfast was amazing , food at dinner was so many options that sometimes it went cold but always something to enjoy , carvery was excellent every night My only negative was the bar service at night in the show bar , very slow as only one person taking orders for about 300 people, only managed to get 1 drink while the show was on , people was walking out and going to bars off hotel due to this . Over all a very good hotel and weather was excellent, we will definitely return

Our second time here, already booked our third! Such a wonderful hotel. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. It is a bit dated but mainly ‘older’ people stay here. I’m 38 and think I was the youngest there!! The rooms are functional. We always take a fire stick with us so we can watch Netflix/prime. Great internet for streaming. We upgraded to UP! It’s expensive but 100% worth the money! You get a better room included, a visit to the spa inc a massage, and a delicious fine dining meal. There’s three lifts on each side of the hotel. They sometimes take a while to come as they’re always in use but they’re clean and have always worked well. There’s a little shop across the road that sells everything you could possibly need. Housekeeping was amazing. They were so friendly and came everyday and changed your sheets whenever you wanted. The outdoor market is a few mins walk and is really good. It’s on Tuesday and Sundays 9-2. Food at this hotel was amazing! Best I’ve ever had in a hotel!

Lovely peaceful hotel. Excellent food options and everywhere is very clean. All staff are welcoming and friendly. Very comfy sunbeds and plenty of parasols and tables. Great position at the end of the bay. Lovely coastal walks right on your doorstep. Already booked for next year!

The Hotel the visit was our 9th. It just gets better and better we met a couple from Swanage who said it was a Happy Hotel and can understand why so many guests return. The Staff make the Hotel special you are treated by an excellent staff Arsenio (Restaurant) Esperanza , Carmen & Jessica to name but a few. Entertainment Jorge is infectious he never stops his pool work out is wonderful.

We have just returned from a relaxing week in the Arona Gran, What a wonderful hotel, we found it to be spotlessly clean with friendly accommodating staff, We went on a half board basis and the food was plentiful and good quality, One of the nice touches is the linen tablecloths and napkins at every meal, The Wi-Fi works as it should, and the front desk staff were gracious and very quick to summon a taxi, Our room was nothing special, but we were in it only to shower and sleep, The jewel in the crown is the UP roof terrace with two pools and a bar, It is private, uncrowded, relaxing and the views are spectacular, We will be back!
