Description

Hotel Cleopatra Palace is a four-star resort established in 1996, located within the Mare Nostrum Resort complex in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife. The hotel offers 431 rooms across three four-story buildings, with a range of room categories including standard doubles, quadruple family rooms, and suites, some with pool or ocean views. Families benefit from extensive kids' facilities such as a children’s club (ages 6 months to 16 years), a kids’ pool, and activities including swimming lessons and horseback riding. Guests have access to multiple dining options with three restaurants serving buffet and show cooking, plus several bars including a poolside Vitaminas bar. The hotel features three outdoor freshwater pools with free towels and sun loungers. On-site amenities include a spa with a Turkish bath, sauna, indoor pool, and jacuzzi, plus a fitness center and tennis courts. Wi-Fi and parking are complimentary. The hotel emphasizes family-friendly services and welcomes honeymooners with special packages. However, some guests noted that rooms show signs of wear and noise can be an issue due to the lively surrounding area.

Location

Hotel Cleopatra Palace is situated on the first beachfront line at Playa de las Americas, just 10 meters from the sandy public beach El Camison, which spans 120 meters and offers pay-per-use umbrellas and loungers. The hotel lies 17 km from Tenerife South Airport (TFS) and 15 km by road. Nearby, there are several restaurants within a 200-300 meter radius, such as Gourmetland La Martina (190 m, rating 8/10) and Restaurante El Embrujo (266 m, rating 7.6/10). The hotel’s key location provides direct access to the beach through a private gate and is close to the Hard Rock Café, although the proximity to nightlife can affect noise levels. The central position also offers convenient walking access to shops, bars, and other amenities on the lively Golden Mile.

Tips

  • Request a room away from the Hard Rock Café side to reduce noise disturbance, especially if you are a light sleeper.
  • Take advantage of the free pool towels and sun loungers to save on beach equipment rental.
  • If you plan a longer stay, explore local dining options outside the hotel for more variety, as breakfast can become repetitive after a few days.

We stayed at the Cleopatra for 5 nights recently after having moved to the hotel from a noisy air BnB. Upon booking and check in we had expressed a desire to have a quiet room. We were even sold an upgrade to make sure we got a quiet area.

Unfortunately these requests were ignored as well as the upgrade fee making no difference as we were put in a room overlooking the Hard Rock which was playing very loud live music until midnight. Upon returning to our room after dinner we immediately realised it would be impossible to sleep while the music was going on. We went to reception to ask about changing rooms only to be met with a response of “you’ve booked a hotel in the party area so what do you expect”. Whilst I understand the sentiment and the lady did proceed to try and help this felt like a very rude comment to make considering we had done all we could to get a quiet room and there was no warning on their website to say noise would be an issue late into the night.

The lady on reception showed us another room which was a downgrade but no mention of a refund for the fee I had already paid earlier in the day. Once challenged she went back in her previous comment about not having any quiet rooms and said we could move but it would have to be at 3pm the next day. Once the music stopped at midnight that was just start as then you had loud drunk people, staff smashing bottles and deliveries throughout the night.

Once we did move it was a lot better but still issues with various noise throughout our stay.

The hotel itself is a little strange as common areas are well maintained but the rooms are dated and need a bit of a refresh.

The breakfast was ok. Nothing special and we were a little put off by the presence of cockroaches climbing near the fountain and several dead ones floating in the water.

Overall this isn’t somewhere I’d stay again as in general I don’t see why you’d spend a decent amount of money on a hotel that is so noisy.

This was the third time we stayed at this hotel. The last time was three years ago, and back then we were quite satisfied. Unfortunately, almost everything has changed for the worse. We definitely won't be coming back, and the only real reason to choose this hotel now is its excellent location.
The first thing we noticed was the extremely unpleasant smell in the room. It smelled like old, damp, deteriorated wood, and the odor was very strong.
The shower had several problems. The water pressure was very low, and the water temperature kept suddenly changing from hot to cold.
There were also many broken or damaged items in the room.
The shower by the spa pool was out of order, the spa clock wasn't working, and the steam sauna was also broken.
The spa itself felt abandoned and was nothing like it was three years ago.
Overall, we're very disappointed. Despite the wonderful memories we had from our previous stays, we will never stay at this hotel again.

Just back from staying here in March 2026. From the moment we arrived the staff were very welcoming and attentive. We were offered a glass of Cava, but as I don't drink alcohol we were offered multiple different drinks to choose from. During check-in we were looked after by the wonferful Oliver, who made sure everything was sorted out. Throughout our stay all the staff were very helpful and friendly.
This hotel is in the perfect location. Just behind the Hard Rock cafe away from the busy main street. Your room key card can also be used to open a private gate onto the beach which is just a few metres away.
My trip here was to celebrate my birthday. So imagine my surprise on the mornig of my birthday I awoke to find a letter had been slipped under the door to our room. The letter wished me a happy birthday and told me there would be a surprise awaiting me during breakfast service. I was prresented with a lovely little cake and two glasses of bubbly and the resident pianist played happy birthday. They do this for everyone celebrating a birthday during their visit. A really nice touch.
I must be perfectly honest and say that while this is a fantastic hotel in a great location I think it is due a bit of a refurbishment. Don't get me wrong, everything is very clean, but there are some signs of wear.

This was our 3rd visit, last visiting in 2021. We noticed back then that refurb work was required and expected this to be carried out 5 years later. This is not the case.
The main reception and atrium appear quite nice but there’s many observations we made in and around our room:
- Despite reporting a faulty tv remote control it wasn’t fixed 100%
- The card receptacle controlling power in the room was loose on the wall.
- The bathroom door has been soaked and swollen and very unsightly
- Drawers that don’t obviously close properly.
- The once attractive chandelier type lights in the atriums around the hotel are now a bit shabby looking. One of these was dismantling slightly when wind was blowing in from the pool area and dropping small pieces onto the floor below.
- our balcony door wasn’t initially locking. This was repaired.
- The hotel (as others have noted) is quite dated in various ways.
- our room was very near the Hard Rock Cafe and music from there was quite loud until ~11:30

Good points are:
- Location
- Cleaners and all other staff do an exceptionally job.
- Bed and bedding was very comfortable
- A safe is supplied and free of charge.
Breakfast was excellent as was the music from the charming pianist Erika.

We’d love to return but not until a significant upgrade /refurbishment is carried out.

The hotel staff were polite and friendly from day one with welcome champagne and drinks. They had a nice small bed for my little one, along with some kiddy toileteries to make her feel special. The rooms were very clean. The pool side is quite huge with a good bar. The hotel was in front of the beach so very conveniently situated to all amenities. I had a great experience staying there.

Wonderful experience at this hotel, impeccable service, especially from the receptionist Janine…. Very well located, many restaurants around, practically beachfront and a well-served breakfast, I would only recommend power outlets near the bed. 10/10 ❤️

Service was perfect, cleaning was good. Checkin was fast. Breakfast is very disappointing, the Beach club palazza is also very bad food there. I got very sick from it. Location of palazza is good, for a thank you you can go there quietly but to eat I would not do it.

Stayed in the hotel in September. Champagne on arrival. bags taken to room right away. Rooms can’t be faulted clean as you will get . Breakfast choice for all tastes including yes more champagne if you fancied it . Beach is in the door step . Pool are is excellent. Not a kid to be seen . peace and quiet everywhere. 11/10 . Will definitely be back. It’s safe as. nice pool bar snack . perfect setting for shopping and restaurants right behind hotel. you can walk for miles in either direction stop eat and drink along the way . €25 taxi from airport . Will 1000% be back. ignore the negative reviews shit happens everywhere.

Firstly, I don't even review. But after today's dinner, I was completely appalled by the food and service so left with no choice but to review. Number 1. The service is horrific, the staff is rude and disrespectful. Number 2. The food is disgusting, do not come here for Indian food or Chinese for that matter. The bland food has left a bad taste in my mouth with the bad manners of people working here. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Stay away!! Don't be fooled by its location

Not a good place to eat. Found hair in the food and on top the bathroom is always used by the employees to straighten the hair and apply make up. Bad experience overall
30.08.2017 Ethan
From my experience it was perfectly fine. Food was great and the staff are friendly and we had a warm welcome and someone bringing us to a table! The only thing I could complain about is the people trying to sell stuff and continuously coming up to our table. In conclusion, perfectly fine!

The food is actually decent... They panhandle you for service gratuity when you leave. Kinda lowbrow. The female staff are attentive and polite. Male staff are slow and I saw one throw trash on the ground as he was walking along. Not a place with class. The neighboring spot with good music I think has same owners with cool live music. Go for the food.
