The rooftop pool, highlighted in the hotel booking, requires a paid "upgrade" room. When I inquired about the price, the staff told me it was expensive. When I asked how much, they repeated "expensive." Only after I said I wanted to know the price did they reluctantly look it up for me. Later, when I asked how to use the rooftop pool without a "upgrade" room, they told me it would cost €100?! I can understand a reasonable fee, but if it's a high price, then there's no point in emphasizing this activity. Many of the mentioned amenities are basically negligible because they were impossible to book. Furthermore, the hotel forces you to download their app to connect to the Wi-Fi upon check-in 🤗. The worst part is, I saw a crab in the room 🪳. I was planning to stay an extra day on the island to avoid the hassle of changing hotels, but the staff said that even if I extended, I would have to check out the next day and check back in… Please, surrounding hotels are cheaper. My only reason for extending was to avoid the hassle of checking out. Otherwise, I don't think I would stay at this hotel again because the price and facilities are not commensurate. Of course, the location is convenient, and the toilet is large. But these are things that other hotels in the area can easily replace. Finally, when I returned to my room and saw the toilet, I felt even more that there was no need to extend my stay. However, the staff were very helpful on the day I checked in.

Lovely hotel, very clean and accessible for disabled customers. Pools are great. Evening food in November was very poor. Simple like lasagne with chips and spring rolls?? It shows the hotel offer half board which the package we were on but it's better to be bed & breakfast as there is so much choice for your meals out in playas Da Las Americas. Ps. Bring your own tea bags!! Hotel charges €4 per replenishment of tea n coffee sachets in each room.

Lovely hotel. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Hotel is central enough with a short walk to bars and restaurants but not to close that it’s noisy in the evenings. It is definitely on my hotel list to return to.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. On arrival you cannot help but be impressed by the hotel's interior. But it is people who make a hotel so special thanks must go to Angoney on reception who welcomed us warmly and assisted us with the Check In process which went very smoothly.
Room are well maintained. Cleaning staff are in daily - a big thank you to Loci who looked after us in this respect.
We were saying bed and breakfast and were delighted with the range and quality of the food served. Steven was helpful and friendly- lovely to chat to.
If you are looking for a wee pamper I cannot recommend the spa enough. Simona and Lily were so friendly and kind to us. We are not regular spa bunnies so they were very helpful in taking us through the process. They took such good care of us- the massage was wonderful. We enjoyed having a wee chat with them afterwards about Italian football teams. Mille Grazie Bellas! Buona Fortuna!
If you are thinking about staying here at the Vulcano go for it! We will be back!

TL;DR: As of the time of writing, do not stay at this hotel as they have a large cockroach/ant infestation and it will likely ruin your stay as it ruined ours. It completely changed how we interacted with the hotel and made us scared to sleep in the room. ## Cost and Location We stayed in the hotel for 8 nights with the Balance terrace included, so I won't be covering the Up! experience, but we did everything else. We paid £1950 for a 8 night stay with flights and transfers, and I think this boils down to somewhere between £1300-£1500 for the room for 2 people. The location is good; it's a minute walk from the main "mile" of southern Tenerife and you'll always find something to do. We did multiple excursions that came right to our hotel so if you're looking for food, shopping, or adventure you can access it from the hotel. ## Checking In The staff at check-in were clearly a bit flustered when we got there, but I think that's to be expected as people are ferried in 1 coach at a time so there's huge influxes of people. However, we checked in with one of the automated machines and it failed to give us our keycards to the room so we had to queue anyway, rendering the automated check-in useless. ## The Room The room is - at face value - fine. It's newly renovated but honestly resembles something I'd pay half the price for somewhere else; It had a really large TV, a minibar that had a very reasonable drinks package to purchase, and a good bathroom with rainfall shower. The fact that there are no double beds in any rooms except the accessible ones is odd, but something that I guess I could deal with. What I can't deal with however is the rampant cockroach infestation. We found multiple cockroaches on our first night in the room, and had to go down to reception to report it, as we weren't going to sleep in a room with them. However I was actually left with my jaw dropped when the receptionist simply suggested that we go and buy some bug spray to take care of it. I've never felt more figuratively slapped in the face than this. I obviously probed further, at which point the receptionist sighed and offered to change our room. We were moved from the 4th floor to the 6th floor, and knowing cockroaches stay to lower floors we thought we'd seen the end of it. However just to be safe I did go to the local supermarket and buy bug spray. Thereafter, every night before dinner I sprayed every inch of skirting board in the room - something you never expect to do on a holiday you've paid £1000s for. However even this didn't work! We were glad to find only dead cockroaches after the spray, but finding them regardless was such a demoralising experience every time. The fact that every room comes with a little card saying "we have little insect visitors please don't eat in your room haha" is insulting. If you know you have an infestation at the scale that you clearly do, close the hotel and fumigate. At the very least help your staff to cope as they're clearly n

Great hotel, good variety of pools and all the facilities you’d need.

I particularly found the wristband system very convenient also.
For an extra charge there is also a spa (sauna, cold plunge, pool, massages) as well as “Up!” which gets you a quiet rooftop with beds, unlimited food & drink and an infinity pool. Both were great value for money but are not inclusive of the hotel rate.

The standard sunbeds are plentiful though and you have one warm heated pool, 2 non-heated and a water jet/massage pool as standard.

The breakfast was excellent everyday, nothing I can think I could add to to improve.
The games room also was quite fun with table tennis, air hockey, pool and other games.

The hotel does have some wear and tear/is older and lacked some soundproofing, so we had a bad sleep our first night (next to the lift) but upon notifying the staff we were fortunately moved to a quiet part of the hotel with a bonus larger balcony and room.

The location we found very useful. A short walk from all beaches and restaurants we looked up and wanted to go to, next to a bus stop (in case you want to go up Pico Teide and the guides are sold out) & close to the padel courts at La Siesta.

Overall, great staff, facilities and location.

Our experience at the Vulcano was outstanding from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully designed and has a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help.
Our room was modern, comfortable, and had a lovely view of the gardens. Breakfast was exceptional — so much choice and everything fresh and delicious. The rooftop “UP!” terrace was the highlight: stunning ocean views, an infinity pool, and perfect cocktails at sunset.
We left feeling completely relaxed and already planning to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stylish, peaceful getaway in Tenerife!

Stayed for 4 nights as part of a girls holiday and was immediately given a free room upgrade. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a few issues with the electricity blowing in the room and the WiFi wasn’t great but once flagged staff were at the room within the hr and v helpful. Although issues with the room WiFi continued throughout our stay and I gave up with it in the end. Breakfast was good and a nice variety although was served raw poached eggs one morning and voiding ordering eggs again as I didn’t want to get sick. Having stayed at the Bitacora last year and witnessed the sunbed wars it was frustrating seeing people reserve beds from 8am all day and spend v little time round the pool with all the beds taken by 10. It Would have been helpful for the lifeguards to do something about this. They were mostly on their phone all day with ear pods in doing v little. I did really enjoy my stay and will return again in the future. The friendly and helpful staff make the hotel a must stay. Thank you.

Fantastic - First impression were amazing with a stunning modern entrance, the breakfast is the best I’ve seen with a fantastic variety, the food quality was also superb. It was also great as breakfast serves from 7-12 so you dont have to be up early.

The rooms look amazing with modern touch, the air con, beds and bathroom were great - no issues.
The cleaners would always come back and clean room daily despite me laying in which was great.

Location is fantastic too - I would definitely return here.

A lot of respect for the hotel with the accessibility for disabled guests even allowing a pool entrance - The pool has accessibility and the hotel all round.

Firstly, I don't even review. But after today's dinner, I was completely appalled by the food and service so left with no choice but to review. Number 1. The service is horrific, the staff is rude and disrespectful. Number 2. The food is disgusting, do not come here for Indian food or Chinese for that matter. The bland food has left a bad taste in my mouth with the bad manners of people working here. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Stay away!! Don't be fooled by its location

Not a good place to eat. Found hair in the food and on top the bathroom is always used by the employees to straighten the hair and apply make up. Bad experience overall

From my experience it was perfectly fine. Food was great and the staff are friendly and we had a warm welcome and someone bringing us to a table! The only thing I could complain about is the people trying to sell stuff and continuously coming up to our table. In conclusion, perfectly fine!

The food is actually decent... They panhandle you for service gratuity when you leave. Kinda lowbrow. The female staff are attentive and polite. Male staff are slow and I saw one throw trash on the ground as he was walking along. Not a place with class. The neighboring spot with good music I think has same owners with cool live music. Go for the food.
