The pool looks nice, but the water is colder than the sea — completely impossible to get in. On top of that, the music around the pool was terrible and not lively at all.
On the second day, during breakfast, the orange juice machine broke down and there wasn’t another one available. They also didn’t offer any other juice options.
I understand that Menorca is usually warm most of the year, but during this cooler season, not having any heating in the rooms is very uncomfortable. We asked for duvets, and they brought three, but all of them were single-size for double beds. The bathroom conditioner dispenser was broken. In one of the rooms, there were no regular pillows, just two “Teddy Bolster Pillows,” which were extremely uncomfortable.
We went to the spa and were disappointed — people entered the jacuzzi without taking a shower, and the edge of the hot tub was dirty.
On the first day, we tried the hotel restaurant that offers a so-called “Brazilian barbecue,” but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It’s expensive, the meat was undercooked, and there were very few options — far from a real Brazilian rodízio. The restaurant in general is overpriced, and even the snacks my kids ordered weren’t good.
On our check-out day, we asked to leave at 2 p.m., but they said it would cost €20 per extra hour. I thought that was unreasonable, especially since the hotel was empty. The regular check-out time was noon, and they only allowed us to stay until 1 p.m. for free. Even so, housekeeping knocked on our door twice before 11:40 a.m.
Since we were allowed to stay until 1 p.m., I went to take a shower — and, to my surprise, the water was turned off while I was still covered in soap! My daughter-in-law called the reception, and it took about 10 minutes for the water to come back.
Overall, this hotel is far from being a real 5-star experience.

Very nice hotel with good amenities and good staff. We arrived way before the official check in time ( on the off chance of an early check in ) and were offered breakfast that same morning whilst they check if there were any available rooms. It was a nice touch as we had not paid for that day and was a welcome breakfast after a tumultouous ferry journey and good first impression. We then went for a walk and received a text saying the room was ready which was lucky.
The breakfast was nice and had good selection. The coffee not so much.
The restaurants we tried were all very good as were the cocktails.
We had room 88 with nice views and terrace, however, the room felt very worn out and shabby and smelt of drainage... There was torrential rain the time we were there so it could have been an drain issue due to the weather but the room had an odd smell and damp on the ceiling. Again, the rain was constant and torrential so this may not be a consistent issue but a little off putting. We did not say anything at the time as we were out for most of the time anyway and the hotel seemed very busy so we didn't want to cause a fuss.
All in all very happy and would recommend and visit again!

Bar was stocked on arrival. Spa was disappointing. Some staff were great. Lots were not.
Disappointing hotel. Poop area was nice but that was really it. Communal reception restaurant and bar very disappointing and certainly not 5 star.

We had an amazing stay at Lago Resort Menorca – Casas del Lago. The hotel is beautiful, perfectly located by the marina, and has a relaxed yet stylish vibe. Our room was spotless and super comfortable, and the pool/beach club area was a highlight.
The staff made the difference though — everyone was kind and helpful. A special shout-out to Jordi at reception, who went above and beyond for us more than once. He made everything easy and really made us feel at home.
Can’t wait to come back!

Loved our stay! Room 86 with the jacuzzi was absolutely amazing – super comfortable and perfect for a couple’s getaway. The Beach Club is a great spot, with Balinese beds for €40, and you can use that amount for drinks, which is a great deal. Staff were friendly and everything was very clean. We’ll definitely be back!

Laura at the reception is exceptional. From the check in she was very helpful and professionally helped with my parking issues.
Waiting staff are also very friendly and helpful!

Our experience at the hotel was disappointing, especially with service and communication. We contacted the hotel several times before our stay to say it was a birthday trip—after seeing reviews about others receiving thoughtful touches—but got no reply or acknowledgment on arrival. That lack of care continued throughout. Twice, a cleaner walked into our room without knocking—once while we were changing and again while someone was in the toilet—even though the “do not disturb” sign was up. We booked kayaking through the hotel thinking it was guided, but nothing was explained. When we saw we’d have to carry the kayak ourselves and go out alone, we didn’t feel comfortable and didn’t go. We were also given the wrong taxi number after visiting Cova d’en Xoroi and ended up stranded for two hours, asking other tourists for help.
The spa wasn’t turned on when we arrived, and there was no one around to assist for 15 minutes. On day one, we used our €40 voucher to book a sunbed, but it was taken when we ordered water, with no explanation that it was actually a drinks credit. We only found that out on day three. It also felt unfair to charge €80/€40 for beds as hotel guests, especially as we couldn’t get one most days—and service clearly dropped when we weren’t on them.
Our room didn’t match the photos online, two of us had to use an open shower with no privacy, and the room wasn’t cleaned or sheets changed on some days. Overall, it felt impersonal, disorganised, and disappointing.

Stayed here July 15-19. Advertised as a 5 star - it’s is 100% not a 5 star hotel. 3 - 4 (pushing it)
When I arrived I had to wait over 5 hours for a room. When I got one, it was facing a car park and stank of cigarettes. Moved to another room, still really poor. Marina facing - you can reach the sink from bed. It’s a very tired hotel. ******* really need to get these standards better!
