Gavimar la Mirada Hotel and Apartments in Cala d'Or

-5 went a family holiday there family home from Australia. Got 2 hotel had booked 3 rooms gt lied to by manager told after booking in only 1 room available for the 5 of us as 2 damaged by flood. No 1 available to fix as no 1 work s on Sunday s except 4 the man paint ing wall s . Wouldn't show proof but were told later by different receptionist they had over booked . Gt new rooms on Mon morning & I have never stayed in a dirtier hotel,mould on b room ceiling & shower curtain ants every where smell in room wdnt go there if it was free avoid at all costs if u Ave booked try n change & you Ave to pay 1 euro deposit 4 cup &plate to use snack bar n pool bar

The room was lovely and clean plus it was cleaned everyday. It was adequate for what we needed . We were on the third floor and there was a lift to get to the room plus there was a walk in shower which was perfect. Our only issue was the food, it was dreadful , not much choice and there were limited cold meats. There was soup on each day which were different colours but tasted the same. The breakfasts were awful not much choice the bacon did not taste like bacon and the sausage was dreadful…….i was hungry most of the time, there was no pleasure going to the restaurant. It’s better to eat out. Also, I spoke to a family who were on the ground floor and they were over run with ants, they were even in the wardrobe. The reception were not helpful they would not change their room as the hotel was full. All they were given was a spray to try and get rid of the ants which didn’t work

Where to start...

1) Upon arrival, we were required to send our reservation confirmation. I don't understand why, since the hotel had our reservation in its system (same for all other guests).

2) Cleanliness: 3/10: Upon arrival, I requested an immediate change of sheets because there were stains on both beds (thanks very much to the housekeeper who arrived in 30 minutes). Overall, the room doesn't feel clean due to the dated furniture. The bathtub - better to take a shower.

3) Food: I paid for an all-inclusive package for two people, and in the end, we didn't eat anything. When I saw the buffet the first night, I thought it was a bad joke... I'm not a complicated person, but I've never seen such a poor buffet/selection in any hotel in my life.

4) The hotel is an apartment/hotel with a small kitchen, but no equipment is provided. What's the point?

5) The room doesn't really match the pictures on the booking website.

The only positive thing is the lovely reception staff and housekeepers... but that's not enough for a pleasant stay.

If you don't want to be disappointed, choose another hotel!

This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at! A total waste of a weeks holidays! It is NOT in Cala D’Or but Cala Egos. It is NOT on the seafront, the beach is grubby, as is the Hotel in general. On arrival, our allocated room had the most disgusting overpowering stench of drains, we were eventually offered another room but, lo & behold it stank just as badly. No amount of unblocking/bleach etc could remove the smell, no other room was offered as they were full, we had to live with this for the duration of our stay, with the windows wide open day & night, we were given no apology for this sad state of affairs. The shower was faulty; switching from either scalding hot water or freezing cold water, very dangerous for anyone with young children. The water was so salty you couldn’t get a lather when washing, I’ve never encountered this before. I would rate this hotel as a 0 star. The entertainment consisted of one girl singing on two separate nights, the rest was non-existent or just pure rubbish; throwing a ping-pong bowl into bowls! The food was bland, repetitive & low quality, the wine was OK but the cocktails were pathetic! there is no lounge area to sit in of an evening, only a very few seats in the bar area, we were forced to go out of an evening, spending more money than we should have on food & drinks out, plus the taxis fares to Cala D’Ore, the all inclusive package was a big mistake. I will never come here again, awful place! ,
