Let me start by saying this: You might think 'why not complain?' but we're not the type. We wanted and got a budget holiday. The rooms on our holidays are a place to sleep at night. But there is no entertainment - anywhere and no balconies, so no escape there either.

This is supposedly a 3 star hotel - it's probably a 1 in reality. The public areas are not cleaned, table cloths are dirty and bits of food are not swept up. There was a high chair in the breakfast room with dried food all over it all week.
Rooms were OK but no plugs for bath or sink so we couldn't work out if the smell in the room was coming from drains or the atrium that runs up the centre of the building.
The plunge pool on the roof had broken tiles in the bottom and what were fixed down was covered by algae. There was also the slight putrid smell you get with still water.
The breakfast is continental, basically ham and cheese with French bread and croissants (every day). If you didn't get down early enough some items were not replenished (such as fruit, bread and yoghurts). Not the fastest or friendliest staff I have ever met either.
Food was ok (typically Spanish) so if you are a fussy eater it is definitely not the place to go on a half board basis. On that note, no evening meals from October onwards until season starts again. Not their fault we weren't made aware, more the booking agents. We could have (and did on a couple of occasions) lunch instead but mainly ate out. I would recommend going to Benidorm on the tram. It worked out cheaper to travel there to drink and eat than eat in El Campello.
