Hotel was clean and room was comfortable and perfect for our 4 night stay. The breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent with the bus stop for the airport just round the corner and the tram just up the road. There was a great choice of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and the promenade and beach were just 10 minutes walk away. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed excellent service, good location and clean facilities. The breakfast buffet was very good and some items changed daily. Our room was spacious, quiet and the A/C and wifi worked like a charm. We loved the 24hr complimentary coffee machine in the lobby.

We had a very disappointing experience at Occidental. Even though we only had breakfast included, basic friendliness and professionalism should still be expected. The staff recognized us yet asked for our room number twice in a row. We completely understand verification procedures, but being singled out and asked again while holding a list, seemingly only directed at us, made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
The room service was also unacceptable. The rooms were not vacuumed, and there were insects present. On top of that, housekeeping made only one of the beds, my friend’s, while mine was left completely untouched. This shows a lack of attention to detail and incomplete service, which is simply not acceptable in any hotel.
Overall, the experience left us feeling unwelcome and dissatisfied. We expected basic cleanliness, consistency, and respectful treatment, and unfortunately none of these standards were met.
The room service was also unacceptable. The rooms were not vacuumed, and there were insects present. I arrived at Occidental Alicante late in the evening after a long drive and was honestly just expecting a smooth and professional check-in. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
At the reception, I was greeted by a female staff member who seemed far more interested in talking to her colleague than in helping me. When I finally got her attention, she appeared irritated that I was even there. To put it mildly, she was rude, dismissive and spoke to me in a very cold and harsh manner. She seemed completely uninterested in being helpful, which made the whole situation uncomfortable and very unprofessional – especially when arriving tired late at night.
When I finally got to my room, things only got worse.
The room was not cleaned at all – it was clearly dirty (as shown in the pictures). On top of that, the room was very small and had an extremely tiny window facing directly into the neighboring building, which was right next to it. There was no privacy and hardly any natural light.
Overall, a very bad experience and a terrible start to my stay. The combination of rude service and a dirty, depressing room is simply unacceptable – especially for a hotel that presents itself as a place of quality.

Perfect location and very happy with the room. It was clean and tidy and everything worked. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. We stayed 3 nights and were very happy. The location is perfect. Directly in the centre and fantastic restaurants, cafes and shops on the doorstep. Would recommend.

Breakfast was good and location was excellent. Room was a little tired, the shower leaked, the TV internet didnt work and the airconn was very weak so we had to leave the windows open at night.

Good central location near a huge variety of bars and restaurants. Helpful reception staff. Good cleaning and towel change. Coffee machine in lobby for limited hours was good but would have preferred a kettle in the room.

After 1 year living in Alicante, we can confidently agree that this is the best restaurant around.. and that's a difficult call to make since there are so many wonderful restaurants around!! Make a reservation for a more formal dinner or sit downstairs for the casual experience.. no booking required ?

Fantastic restaurant, we hired the private dining room for a double stag party (around 30 of us). The service was superb-the waiters were extremely attentive and food and drinks were served promptly. The food was plentiful, with many options available to cater for any appetite. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
