There's no kitchen at all, which contradicts the description. The front desk was incredibly slow, and it took five minutes to walk from the reception to the room – the longest hallway ever!

My stay at Meliá Alicante was unfortunately very disappointing, despite the hotel’s excellent location. The setting is truly beautiful, right by the sea, and that is probably the only highlight of my experience.
From the moment I arrived, the customer service fell far below expectations. I reached the hotel around 12:00 PM and was told I would be given a room with a living room and lounge area, but strangely, I was informed that I would not have the right to use that space. As a frequent traveler, I found this very unusual and confusing.
I was then told that check-in would be at 4:00 PM and that I would receive a call once my room was ready. However, no one contacted me. Around 4:00 PM, I went to the reception myself and was given a different room instead.
The situation became even more concerning when I reached the room and found the door already open. This was shocking and immediately made me feel unsafe. To make matters worse, the bathrobe provided was dirty. When I reported the issue to reception, it seemed they were already aware that the door was faulty, which is completely unacceptable from a safety perspective.
I would like to highlight that Trip.com handled the situation professionally when I contacted them, and they intervened promptly. Their support was far more reassuring than anything provided by the hotel staff.
What disappointed me the most was the complete lack of apology or accountability from the hotel. Even during check-out, there was no acknowledgment of the issues I had faced.
Overall, I deeply regret choosing this hotel. What should have been a relaxing stay turned into an uncomfortable and unsafe experience. I would not recommend this hotel based on the level of service and attention to guest safety.

Stayed for 2 nights. Lovely hotel with attentive staff and excellent service. The location is perfect and costs approx 25€ taxi to the airport. It is a good location for exploring Alicante and we visited the castle. We also used the train service which was very cheap and efficient.
The rooms I found disappointing. There was no sound proofing between rooms and the doors slam constantly - they don’t appear to be soft closing so anytime anyone leaves their room the door slams. I struggled with sleep both nights which is not ideal when away for a couple of nights rest.
The room itself was large with a good size bathroom. We had a balcony overlooking the harbour which was always in the shade. That was no problem for us however the balcony itself was not clean. The room and bathroom were spotless though with a small mini fridge and tea/coffee facilities.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice as food quality good.
Overall we wouldn’t return due to the lack of sleep.

However, there was one issue with the room that affected the experience slightly. The towels in the bathroom had a noticeable tomato sauce–like smell, which was unexpected and a bit unpleasant. It seemed like they may not have been fully cleaned or properly replaced.
Aside from that, the room itself was comfortable and the rest of the stay went smoothly. If the housekeeping team pays a bit more attention to details like fresh towels, this hotel would easily provide an excellent experience.

Our first time in Alicante and we booked this hotel and we can definitely say our stay here has been awesome. The hotel has all mentioned facilities and the main attraction is Location. You can choose Sea view or Port view and both will provide you a good view for sure. Hotel Staff is really helpful and kind. Breakfast was super nice, many many options to choose, as a vegetarian also we had many good things to eat. Plus gluten free and other options available. The city and major attractions are very near by and public transport also just round the corner. We definitely recommend this to anyone who are planning the visit. Currently hotel is getting renovated although you don't face any issues and I feel once it is renovated fully jt will be more beautiful and provide more facilities.
Only one thing I feel can be better is the rooms walls are very thin and we can hear noise from other rooms sometimes.

Great hotel in great location! We had a lovely two nights stay in February 2026 for my husband's birthday. We went half board and the food was delicious. Breakfasts with great selection, fresh orange juice and amazing sea view. The staff was very nice - special regards to Susana who looked after us very well 🤩 Evening meals - three course menu, good selection also very tasty and good service. We had port view from our balcony and it was beautiful, day and night. Location is fantastic - beside the beach, restaurants, walking distance to major interesting places in Alicante. Bus stop to go to the airport - 3 mis walk away. We would love to be back even tomorrow 🤩

Infrastructure is terrible， old and out of fashion. Lift is out of service and part of rooms are under decoration. I had no electricity in my room, hotel service is very poor. Place not worth a second stay!

The Level Lounge deserves special mention: calm, elegant, and very well run. The quality of the food and drinks throughout the day was excellent, with a good variety and attentive service. It truly added value to the stay and made the experience feel elevated and relaxed.
Breakfast and dining options were very good overall, with fresh products and good execution. Common areas are well kept, and the hotel’s location by the sea is ideal — both central and tranquil.
