The positives: really good selection of food for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Lovely staff, lovely views. Great large pool that the kids absolutely loved. A good gym. Large rooms. The negatives, on the surface things look clean but a slightly more discerning look reveals dirty stairwells, really dirty patio doors etc. Basic amenities in the rooms with old furniture, location a bit isolated, you’ll need a car. Parking 16 euros a day. All in all I actually enjoyed the stay and my kids loved it. It’s not a 4 star though if truth is told hence the 3 star review.

Just got back from 7 nights at Sol Marbella and we had a wonderful time. We read a mixture of review lately on trip adviser, but I go anywhere with an open mind as people on this app tend to let the smallest inconvenience ruin their stay. When we first arrived I would say the outside could do with a lick of paint, but once you walk in the reception and all indoor areas are modern and well maintained. In first speaking to the reception staff we felt welcomed and yet were very informative on activities and amenities on and round the hotel. We arrived to our room, it was modern with no problems, very spacious and clean. The cleaners would come in everyday if required and do your beds and towels. The room had a fridge, safe and hairdryer with it, plenty of room for clothes and a large bathroom. The food was lovely, large variety of fresh cooked meat, cold meats, salad, fish, fresh cooked pizza, meals like curries and casseroles were made as well Chinese and other dishes. I’m a meat and salad man while away, so very happy, the fussy kids ate a lot of chips, pizza, nuggets and the other beige food they enjoy. They also had a lovely range of desserts the carrot cake being my personal favourite. Pool areas, clean with plenty of sun loungers, we never had a problem getting one. Activities all through the day at the main pool but if you fancy a quiet when you can escape up to the top pool. They also have a small splash park for smaller kids, my 6yo loved it. The entertainment staff were amazing! Probably the best entertainment we’ve seen, they could put a little more English vocabulary in at times but for what was done we understood what was going on most of the time. The evening shows for kids and adults were always good, The Greatest showman and the magic show being our personal favourite. The beach was nice, it’s not for us, but nice to look at over dinner or while you’re having drinks at the top bar. The hotel is a bit out the way if you do want to sight see, but you can get the L-79 bus to Esapona or Marbella very easily from the main road. All in all, we had an amazing time and thank you to the hotel and its staff for making it a brilliant first family holiday.

Arrived at the hotel lovely reception area greeted very well. I requested a ground floor because I’ve got Disabilty oh my God it’s such a big hotel if you’re not fixed it’s not the hotel for you. I asked to hire a Mobility scooter some parts of hotel need doing up the room is lovely. I’d say a free star hotel. We were lucky we had Seaview’s and swimming pool views. The staff are very nice and accommodating. There was so much choice for food. We were half bored bored the food was very nice. Sometimes it wasn’t very hot evening meal. He had lots of choices also After breakfast we took some snacks from the restaurant to have at lunchtime or late afternoon. You don’t really need to be full ball. The pool bar wasn’t open all the snack bars. There was only one restaurant open where there should be for you can get English channels on the TV Which is a bonus if you want to chill take your own kettle if you wanna make tea or coffee and supplies biscuits snacks there is a very small shop which sell basics and a few gifts disappointed but all the other shops were still under development. Overall I would say a free star hotel Which was okay for what we needed and the price we paid beer were if you book it in the summertime it’s about £900 era to £1000 which I feel it wouldn’t be worth it just my opinion.

Visited with 3 friends for a short 5-day holiday to celebrate one of my friend's birthdays and stayed half-board. The stay went well from start to finish, despite a few minor issues with some of the room fixtures and fittings. I can't fault the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They were very prompt at responding to any issues and helped arrange a special treat for my friend. The assistant in the on-site shop was particularly friendly. The best thing about this hotel for me was the food. There is a very wide selection, some of which changes each day. One of my friends has a gluten allergy and was delighted at the gluten-free area. One thing I don't recommend is the local bus service (and the stop is a 15/20-minute walk away). The service does not seem very reliable. Instead, the taxi service was pretty reasonable, especially when all 4 of us were travelling together. Estepona is not too far away by taxi and worth a visit. Marbella is also reachable by taxi. The hotel itself is not very close to local shops/bars etc. so is ideal if you prefer to stay by the pool. There were an OK amount of sunbeds, but I imagine they might run out in high season. Some days it was pretty full in the middle of the day. The beach is also a bit gravelly, so I didn't spend any time there.

Pros Food is excellent, varied and delicious Great gluten free section at Breakfast (although forgotten about at other meals) Staff are lovely One calm quiet pool Gorgeous grounds all very photogenic Cons Maintenace is poor Location is poor Beach is unuseable (so misleading claim) One VERY noisy pool Cringe worthy 'entertainment' This hotel is over a mile away from main road. The road has no pavement or shade. Cost E4.40 in a taxi to get to main road. No coach tours will come here only airport ones. Tip if you are walking to the bus stop go early in the morning before 8am or you will bake. Everyone drives/taxis as the road is unbareably hot. The rooms are immaculate in terms of hygiene. The beds very comfortable. Shower is excellent. There is a fridge and free safe. A balcany with 2 chairs and a table, along with a washing line. The first room (144) had excellent air con, but the electric lamp above my head was hanging off, hand wash pump came away from the wall in the bathroom and the toilet roll holder collapsed into pieces. The 2nd room (112) the bedside lamp did the same. The air con would not work and the lock broke and my friend got stuck in the bathroom - I had to call maintenance to free her! As they could not fix the air con I asked for fans and they brought us an ironing board instead? It was very hot. Also lots of mosquitos in 2nd room, tip bring repelant and use it. The fridge leaked water. One morning the corridor was covered in blood, concerned for safety of whoever and hygiene I got met with a rude response from reception that housekeeping will come - but that was a one off, most staff are very helpful. Also one morning there was a massive dead red cockroach in the corridor. Yuk! There are 2 pools, a round one which is quiet and peaceful not far from the breakfast room. Open 10am - 6pm (they put fences around the pools when closed). There is another one round the corner that is L shaped and moronic. Music blasting out all day, open 11am - 7pm. If you want a post day out swim, take the headache tablets. This is the pool they host fitness type activities on. Also lots of people getting drunk and generally being noisy. I suppose its good that they cater for those wanting a relaxing swim and chavs who want to 'hang out'? Breakfast was great, loads of delicious succulant fruit. A small but well stocked gluten free section. Salad, breads, cereals, choice of milks, cakes/pastries, meat/cheese, chocolate con churros, tortilla, typical English style breakfast, egg station, omlettes of varying quality (depends who is on duty), garlic beans, porridge, fruit juices, coffee machines and complementary cava. Dinner varies every evening, some nights it was prawns, another sushi, loads of salads and different vinegars/dressings. Obviously meat/fish/vegetarian and grill. Nothing gluten free though, you have to keep asking. Also at dinner EVERY drink is chargable - even water. Soft drinks are E3.50 and wine starts at E20. I enjoye

The staff were brilliant! Manuel on reception superb. We upgraded our room as the standard room was a little small & not ready (we arrived 3 hours before check in though) This is a large complex & was a bit of a last minute get away but 3 days - for me would have sufficed. After which, the food became mundane. The cleaners are fab and our room was cleaned to a high standard every day. As long as you are happy with the basic essentials, & happy to stay onsite this hotel is a good bargain x

Absolutely brilliant, couldn't fault our stay, debated changing hotels due to, the reviews and I'm glad i didn't now. The hotel was nice and clean the rooms got cleaned every day, the staff was polite even if there was the language barrier they was lovely, it was quiet but I'm assuming that's because it's so early in the year, the food was lovely always something for everyone, non of us went without even with the major power outage the staff did there best. There was stuff that still looked undercooked however i assume it's ok to eat it like that there. The beach was lovely however couldn't go into the sea due to the pebbles if you really wanted to then you probably could. The only issue was there wasn't many shops near the hotel and we couldn't find or see bus stop so got taxis everywhere which was kind of expensive but a trip to estepona Town is well worth it the taxi ride, there's loads of shops.. We found a nice little Italian restaurant to have lunch however there's an abundance of restaurants and we also got an ice cream and walked around the beach there is lovely too, we also took a trip to selwo aventura which was worth it, it was a really big place with plenty to see and do they even have food on site too it's worth the trip. The hotel has 2 large freshwater pools with a children pool and a poolside bar and different areas for the children to play, they also did a kids entertainment on night time. There's an onsite shop with all essentials and even a little boutique too, there's no kettle in room which i found strange however i just asked for one and one was brought later in the day, you can rent the towels for the pool and beach at reception too. There's also a couple of restaurants/cafes and minimarket a 5 min walk outside the hotel.

Hotel under construction work and out of season when we visited. Modern clean hotel in all parts that were open to us, main pool and pool bar area closed with everything could ask for. All Inclusive - drinks choice for alcohol and for non alcohol soft drinks and cocktails. Food - breakfast very good choice with cooked breakfast, omelettes, pancakes waffles, fruit cereal etc - lunch if like fish plenty choice with hot food on a lunch time, always have fries, plain pasta and choice of sauce. Had a huge selection of salad, cheeses and meats, and a paella. There are lots of nice desert choices. The evening meal is pretty similar to lunch time. There is a huge selection of salad, cheese meats, breads, and deserts. Hot meal options are limited again lots of fish. - snacks limited - pretty much overflow from breakfast. Individual meals that people bought looked really nice. Outside of all-inclusive. The pool area was nice and clean. With life guard on duty and towels available to hire. Lounge bar, clean and served large selection of drinks. Service was reasonably fast, and staff were very friendly. Alot of large family parties when we were here. Very popular hotel for golfers.

Hidden on a small beach with rocks, where is difficult to take a bath this hotel suppose to be high-ratting hotel but has bad services.
The food served is very poor quality for a 4*hotel .
Restaurant is a single open room so if is crowd is impossible to get to eat, it is poorly served, they take a while to replenish. We had half board. If breakfast it is so and so the dinner is worse. Expect to pay also for water at dinner.
Room overall was ok large and clean. But very poor soundproof. Keep in mind the hotel is huge an very noisy. I am comparing all of this with the money you pay for.
And on top of all that you have to pay for parking. 10eur/day so....
