La Costa Hotel Golf & Beach Resort in Pals

My wedding band of 15 years that was sitting on my bedside table is gone after staying at this hotel a week or so ago.

After letting the hotel management know I received an email from them that in the subject line said “ Lost” ring. Let me make myself clear: I did not lose my ring in my room! Undoubtedly the safe was not operational in the room so my wife hid her valuables thankfully as they are worth far more than my wedding band.

It is not the value of the band that matters to me as much but what it represents. I am feeling upset at the hotel as well as myself for not hiding what meant so much to me. If you stay here make sure the safe works and use it. If not functioning then you and your family should take shifts where one person is in the room at all times. I know this sounds ridiculous but what is more ridiculous is a hotel that does not take accountability for what happens at their hotel.

As far as the hotel the pool was nice and the kids enjoyed it but the rest of the hotel is run down and looks nothing like what the marketing people portray on their website. You will see this and agree with me if you stay here.

One of the worst mistakes of my life.

My wedding band that I have now had for 15 years was unequivocally stolen from my room. I always take my ring off at night and place on my bedside table. The safe was not working in the room.

I unfortunately forgot to put on my ring as we headed down to breakfast and then ultimately afterwards decided to walk over to the beach and swim. I remember feeling uncomfortable that I did not have my ring on but nevertheless have an expectation that it not be taken either from this “4 star resort”.

Later on that afternoon when we got back to the room housekeeping had been there and my ring was no longer where I left it. I searched the room to no avail.

The hotel said that they would check the cameras from outside of the room but that obviously this would not reveal the culprit as there are no cameras in the room. I received an email from them a day or two later after calling multiple times that had the subject line Lost Ring.

My ring was not lost within my room. Clearly for 15 years I kept up with the ring that means so much to me. In retrospect I should have gone back to my room. The hotel in their email showed that at 12:26pm the housekeepers were in the room.

I am furious at myself for not going back to my room after breakfast. Unfortunately you cannot go back in time because if I did I would not have booked at this second rate hotel to begin with.

If you decide to stay at this hotel make sure you place anything of value in a functional safe. Good luck.

Very very overrated. Or air conditioning didn’t work and they first promised to change our room but never did. The resort is 3 star at best, but truly comparable to some 2 star hotels. Food was mediocre. We had a miserable time there.

Very poor service, but they don't have any staff. They didn't give us the apartment until 9:00 PM, and without any explanation. I don't recommend it at all.
