Acacia Suite in Barcelona

Horrible hotel. Definitely not 5 stars. The rooms are from like the 70's, there are no plugs close to the beds, in fact there's only one available plug in the whole room. Warm water sometimes doesn't come out so it's impossible to shower.

Great location, horrible hotel!

Reasons why:
1. We came in 3 hours early to check in and rooms weren’t ready- which is fair. We drop off our bags and explore barcelona. The front desk then texts us that our rooms are ready(its 3pm which is the actual check in time btw). When we get there, only 1 out of 4 rooms is ready! We had to get dressed and leave for a boat party at 4pm! It was a hot mess!

2. The rooms look NOTHING like the photos. They are old, outdated, and run down with ugly green carpet and brown 70s tile.

3. No vent in the bathroom so it gets humid and musty FAST

4. The microwaves are literally sticking out on the wall at the door entrance! Without light, you will smack right against it coming in!

5. Elevators are TINY

6. In one of the rooms, the sink pipe was broken

7. The front desk people are super rude and unhelpful. It was like pulling teeth to get extra towels! And they dont bring them to your room, you have the nag them at the front desk for multiple even though they know that you are in a room with multiple people.

8. They only gave us 2 comforters for a bedroom for 3 people???? Also the beds are all twins just pushed together?? Hard as a rock too!

Overall, dont waste your money here. Horrible experience

After seeing the hotel's response, I find it extremely arrogant and full of excuses. They couldn't even guarantee the most basic amenities. For the drainage issue, they merely brought a mop to wipe the floor, leaving the room filled with a foul odor all night. Moreover, the attitude of the second front desk staff was particularly rude. Initially, we called to ask for shower gel, and he said he would come right away. However, we waited and waited—since I was in the middle of showering—until my friend went down to the front desk and directly requested the shower gel. First, he claimed he couldn't find any. When my friend suggested taking some from an empty room so I could at least finish showering, he still refused and told us to go ahead and complain. His attitude was unreasonable and arrogant, much like this response.

Unacceptable Experience - Targeted Negligence by Housekeeping

Our stay started off fine but ended with a complete breakdown of service and cleanliness. We stayed for three nights, and while the first two were without major issues, the final night was shockingly bad.

Upon returning from shopping during a heavy rainstorm, we found our room partially flooded from a blocked drain and the bedroom window wide open (we were on the 3rd floor, with no security bars – a serious safety concern!). The man at the front desk was helpful and resolved the drain issue quickly, which we appreciated.

However, things quickly went downhill:

· When we went to shower, there was no shower gel.
· We asked the front desk, but the new staff member had no idea where the replacements were kept.
· Strangely, the shampoo and shower gel bottles (300ml) had been almost full the night before – now they were nearly empty.
· When we asked to formally complain, we were told to “lodge a complaint through the platform.”

What followed felt like intentional targeting by the housekeeping staff:

1. Beds were clearly not cleaned – Long hairs were visible on the sheets.
2. Dirty bowls were left in the sink – No effort was made to clean them.
3. The window was deliberately left wide open – We are still unsure whether our room was secure or if someone had entered.
4. Almost all toiletries had been poured out – Only a small amount was left in each bottle. We didn’t realize until we were already in the shower.

This was not neglect – it felt personal and retaliatory. The same tasks had been completed correctly the previous day. We no longer felt safe or respected as guests.

I do not recommend this hotel if you value security, consistency, or basic customer care.

Unfortunately, it was a horrible experience, I had a terrible time. I made a reservation on 11/26/2024, for check-in on 11/29/2024 and check-out on 11/30/2024, but when I received the reservation notification in 5 minutes, I saw that I was wrong in the selected dates, which were check-in on 11/30 and check-out on 12/01 of the respective year. I contacted trip.com via chat on several occasions and days until the date of my request, but without success. On the same day, 11/26, I contacted the hotel directly and they told me to send an email explaining the reason for modifying the check-in and check-out dates, but with no response from the hotel. Since I needed to be in Barcelona on 11/29, the day before, I made a new reservation at another hotel. Without any agreement between the hotel, trip.com and me, the result was the worst, I lost the money for the reservation, I had a lot of headaches and I feel totally cheated. It was simply a matter of changing the dates of the request and everything was resolved, but the delays they give you are incredible, trip says that they contacted the hotel and that the hotel refused to change the dates due to internal policies. On the 29th I was in Barcelona and I went to the hotel to try to negotiate, but without success, the hotel puts all the blame on trip.com and trip does the same, so I was deceived by both parties. It is very complicated, I am just a father of a family who went to Barcelona to pick up a document and find out that there is an agency and a hotel that does nothing to solve a simple change of dates. It is regrettable.
Then they call me from trip, regretting what happened and they offer me 1300 tripcoins, that is, nothing... but my 120 euros went to fatten trip.com even more like the hotel. Since I didn't show up at the hotel yesterday, I'm sure someone stayed in the room and the hotel made some money. 2 reservations for the same room. The Acacias hotel, never again.
