Hotel Best Auto Hogar in Barcelona

The only good thing about this hotel is its location near the metro. Everything else was a disappointment. The room was shockingly small for almost €120 — absolutely tiny and not worth the price at all.

But the service was downright lousy. The hotel doesn’t even offer a complimentary luggage room. Instead, they charge €2 just to store your bags, which already felt cheap and unfriendly.

My checkout experience made things even worse. I tried to pay for the luggage room, and despite being charged twice, the system still didn’t work. When I approached the receptionist for help, he couldn’t be bothered — completely uninterested, unhelpful, and honestly quite rude. In the end, I was charged three times, and he still insisted there would be no refund. Absolutely lousy service and zero accountability.

Overall, the poor service, lack of professionalism, and dismissive attitude from the staff made this stay extremely unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

There is a luggage room available, but it is chargeable, which is unreasonable for hotel guests. The receptionist was neither helpful nor friendly, and communication was difficult throughout the stay. The overall service felt dismissive and unprofessional. Considering these issues, the service quality does not justify the price.

Worst hotel experience in Spain.

There’s absolutely no cleanliness or hygiene in the rooms.

The room was extremely dirty: dust under the bed, stains on the floor, mold in the shower, and seals with insects coming out of them. You have to take a shower wearing flip-flops for your own safety.
I wonder how it’s possible to run a business like this in 2025 after a pandemic.

And last but not least, the walls and windows are so thin that it’s impossible to sleep normally at night, as you get woken up at least ten times by the noise from the nearby bars.

Terrible breakfast: very low-quality products prepared carelessly. Eggs that feel like rubber, butter that isn’t real butter, raw bacon.

I have been to this hotel three times. In Sept 2023, Sept 2024 and Sept 2025. In the first two years the experience was ok. The staff was helpful, in the first year the young day manager even gave us a map and explained what to visit, the room and the food were good. In Sept 2025 however we had the worst experience with this hotel. The day manager had a problem with our names since the accommodation, he behaved badly with us, even though we had stayed with the same name and made the reservation with the same agency in 2023 and 2024. He didn't care and rewarded our loyalty by giving us the worst room. We only had access to the room from an underground garage, the room had no outside light and the window opened onto a ventilation corridor, the bathroom had a window that couldn't be opened. We asked the reception to give us another room, my wife suffers from claustrophobia, but we were refused. We stayed in this room for four days. We tried to enjoy this beautiful city, Barcelona, ​​ignoring the bad room and the bad services of the hotel (which in 2023 and 2024 were excellent). But we will definitely not stay at this hotel again next year in September when we return to Barcelona. We do not recommend this hotel.
