You can't fault the location. 5 min walk from metro station. Very convenient. But that's it - it's not worth paying the money just for the location.
After all, it's definitely not a 4* hotel!
The size of the room is ok, though as many others have suggested, it needs refurbishment as things are starting to fall apart. For example, the shower floor is wooden deck and when you step on it, it sinks and feels like it's about to break any minute!
I booked the room weeks ahead, and requested for a room on a higher floor. Guess what I got? A room on the first door, and of course that's the only room available in the entire hotel. The room was so dark and lacked natural night.
Reception was under staffed. 1 person available at 3pm on a Saturday. There was only 1 person being served in front of us but we ended up waiting for 10 mins before we were checked in.
By the time we were done, there were at least 5 other people queuing behind us.
Breakfast was horrible. It's not a 4* hotel quality at all. The scrambled eggs were cold and solid.
Looked like it was sitting there for a long time.
I was so disappointed provided it got decent ratings. I travel to BCN regularly but definitely would not be staying at this hotel again.

Very nice and spacious hotel room. Good furniture too (desk and comfy chair to lounge on). I only wish they did free breakfast (the other Pestana hotel I went to had great breakfast)

location is really good and convenient. The room is big compare to other hotels. Shower is good and water pressure is good. But The facilities are old. The reception didn't share a lot of information, and there was one night had power outage for about 20 minutes.

Great and convenient location, in the corner of the Magic Fountains, and although not in the middle of the main attractions, it is close enough to metro, to tourist bus stops, or even by a short walk enjoying the city. Bedrooms are modern and clean, no carpets! Very comfortable bed. The service is awesome, in every single interaction. A special shout out to Alexandre. He is always smiling and was very kind to help me even with the busy breakfast on a Saturday morning. People like him make you feel welcome.

This is our second stay here and we love this hotel. The staff is amazing! They go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The Breakfast is so good! Food is delicious and has a great variety. Special thanks to Alexandre and Tino. They are very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be back. We highly recommend Pestana Arena.

It’s located very near to two metro stations, so it’s quite easy to go around the city and get back to the hotel. The staff is amazing, super accommodating and nice. The rooms are nice and clean. If you go with a friend, the beds are put together even tho there’s two of them. Has all the amenities you need.

Facilities: You can tell it's an older building, but it's not too dirty, it's quite nice, and everything is complete.
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Environment: Very close to the subway station, and relatively quiet.

* **Superb Room Experience:** We stayed in the XX type room, which was very spacious and bright! The mattress and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and we slept soundly until morning. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, plenty of hot water, and the toiletries were of good quality. The room was spotless.
* **Impeccable Service:** Check-in and check-out at the front desk were quick, and the staff were friendly, proactively answering our questions and providing helpful travel advice. Room service was prompt and meticulous. The concierge was also very helpful with our luggage. We truly felt at home.

The room facilities were too old, the air conditioning was weak, and the most confusing thing was the room lighting system! The breakfast was very simple and didn't seem very hygienic; the salad and fruit were full of small flying insects, which completely killed my appetite!
