Reviews
First of all, the hotel’s location is decent, and the internet speed is fast — though the bandwidth is painfully narrow. The facilities are far from complete, and the sound insulation is practically nonexistent.
But if you decide to stay here simply because it’s close by, my sincere advice is to keep as much distance as possible from the front desk staff — or better yet, leave this place entirely for the sake of your own well-being.
You’ll likely encounter a middle-aged male staff member with severe seborrheic baldness and extreme myopia. He will straighten his aging, creaking spine and, through the tangled and thoroughly unappealing nose hairs sprouting from his narrow nostrils, attempt to project a borrowed superiority — scavenging for a pitiful, laughable sense of self-worth from paying guests. unfortunately, His filthy T-shirt, seemingly never washed, could never bring him the identity and sense of control he craved deep down.
As a receptionist, he won’t help you solve your problems — instead, he’ll try to “solve” you for daring to make a reasonable request. His grasp of customer service is about as steady as his shiny head hairline. He won't help you resolve the issue any further; instead, he takes pleasure in watching your growing anxiety. He'll constantly interrupt you mid-sentence and arrogantly point his finger at you, as if he's no longer just a front desk clerk but a fallen noble(LMAO).
Rather than fulfilling his duties, he feeds on the illusion of control granted by an insignificant service industry position — a tiny stage on which a very fragile ego performs.
If you find his attitude appallingly rude and notice he considers himself above you, don’t be surprised that a hotel would allow such a feudal-era mindset to sit at the front desk.
When he launches into the finger-wagging routine, don’t get angry — it’s all posture and he got no authority at all.
And the moment you make him remembers he’s just a service worker, that tall frame turns meek in record time like a rabbit. Thats funny.
His boss pays him a salary; yet even checking a simple email took a full week of reminders.
He even volunteered that he “doesn’t care ,” “whatever” even about this country which explains a lot about the results.
Remember this well: never hesitate. If you’re treated with contempt or rudeness, you are the paying side. This is a small hotel, not a prison.
You have every right — and every bit of power — to make your own choices. He doesn’t and the rest of his life he doesn’t too .
The only people capable of writing complaints and defending their rights are you.
You can simply choose to live a better life in more complete student residences like UNIHABIT or RESA, where life is genuinely comfortable.
That petty little mindset will never again have any power over you — it’s insignificant, while each of your documented complaints will look immense by comparison.
Good luck, everyone.
Good location if you don't want to live in a touristy area but a hip and modern one, with lots of bars and narrow streets. Close to a few subway stations and Gracia train station is reachable on foot. Park Guell is within a short walk, and you can get to Gothic quarter in under an hour, walking through some major sights (Casa Mila, Casa Batllo). La Sagrada Familia is half an hour on foot. The only distant things are the Barceloneta beach and Montjuic mountain, which you'll need to take a bus or subway to reach.
Bear in mind they don't have fridges nor basic caterings in the rooms, if that's something you care about.
