The hotel definitely holds up to their 4 star status.
It’s very clean. Very neat. The buffet though (both morning and evening) was extremely boring. Bland. Flavourless. Dry. Greasy. The restaurant itself (not the buffet) made food that was a bit on the better side. Still not exceptionally good. But it was alright.
The pool area was awesome. My kid loved it. Even though the hotel is fairly small, I love how they had activities every day, especially for the kids.
All in all we had an amazing week there. Though I do recommend having a car, as you are pretty far from anything interesting (besides the beach).

This hotel is truly a gem. We have stayed here twice, most recently from July 19 to July 31, 2025. The service was outstanding, particularly during breakfast, where the staff was incredibly attentive, as well as in the restaurant. The reception team, especially the manager, was always available, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. We highly recommend this hotel for an exceptional experience. We will definitely return next summer for our third stay to enjoy once again this beautiful city and fantastic hotel.

Very nice place located in the park, 3 minutes from the beautiful beaches and short walk to bars and restaurants, fantastic swimming pool and overall ambiance. The only comment from our side - rooms are not as per 4* expectations. Cheap decoration and furniture. Everything else is great!

Superb resort for large family. Close to the beach, short walk to the town (we had young kids and easy for them) and the pools are perfect size. Also walking distance to the waterpark which is also recommended. Service and food also very good. Thoroughly recommended

This was the second year running we have stayed at Ciutat de Palol - which really says it all. The apartments are well-equipped, clean and comfortable and the amenities are excellent. The daily housekeeping service is a real luxury. Underground car parking with direct lift access to the apartment blocks is extremely convenient. The complex is within a ten minute walk of the centre of Playa d'Aro where there are many shops, bars and restaurants to suit every taste and pocket. In fact, it is so good we will probably go back again next year.

There are some negative points, which are beating all positive sides: we had the room on the ground floor facing the road with traffic and loud people. Was unable to sleep enough during my holidays. It's not acceptable. AC was loud as well. Breakfast from 9:00 till 11:00, not acceptable at all because I was unable to plan early escapes. Hotel Staff did nothing to make us satisfied. Doesn't look like a 4-star hotel. Not recommended. If you decide to stay in this place, expect to wait for breakfast till 9 am. Prepare yourself for sleepless nights. Bad smell from the bathroom pipes.

It's amazing how a butler at the breakfast buffet can ruin the overall impression of a place like this. Everything from the receptionists, activity leaders, waiters and lifeguards were fantastic throughout our stay. After a great experience, we were going to have breakfast at the restaurant on the last day. It ends with a rude butler scolding us for sitting us down with a table. He had plenty of time beforehand to direct us to a table if that was what he wanted. When we choose to leave the restaurant, he shouts something after us in Spanish that I don't understand, but assume from the reaction of the other visitors that it was not pleasant. I have traveled a lot and visited countless restaurants, but I have never experienced such a rude butler.
If you ignore one "rotten apple", the place is fantastic. The staff are service minded and the facilities are fantastic. The children have lots of activities that they can take part in - everything from art & crafts to sports activities. The pool is large, spacious and there is never a "fight" for the sunbeds. The place can certainly be described as a hidden gem on the Spanish coast.
It is a 15 minute walk to the center of town. Here you will find many large and small shops and good restaurants. It is approximately a five-minute walk to a lovely demarcated bathing beach.

At the hotel, there are mostly Spanish and French holidaymakers. I guess this is a good sign and builds on my claim that this is a "hidden gem" for Scandinavian visitors.
