We had a great stay at this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious with beautiful artwork. We had a room looking out to the courtyard and it was very beautiful and very quiet. The staff are all very friendly and kind. The location is also amazing, very central with great shops and restaurants around, steps away from metro and within walking distance to many attractions. Would highly recommend!

This hotel was not a good experience for my honeymoon. The staff was friendly, and had good communication. However, our room had a leak in the bathroom, and they couldn’t fix it. Also the air conditioning in the room was not working, and it was very hot. Staff would just come by and fix the temperature on the thermostat, but it wouldn’t ever do anything when I complained. It’s a shame, because this is a nice hotel with good staff.

Good location but not worth a four star hotel

The good thing: continent location if you want to visit certain tourist places and is close to a good selection of bars and shops, good cleanness

However if you care about sleep this is not a good choice, sound proofing is pretty poor where all the guest door would slam without slow shutting, which you will get easily woke up by late neighbors.

Other than thin doors, they also assigned me a room that facing directly to the elevator which also “contributes” a lot to quality sleep. Remember to check with them during check in if you are noise sensitive

With this price it is better to look elsewhere, there are hotels who are doing better In basic hospitality needs than fancy art works.

The second time I stayed here, I was just as happy as I was on my first visit. Although I didn’t get the expensive breakfast, the hotel is clean, the room is very nice and clean. Albeit small.

This hotel is centrally located in Barcelona in the Balmes neighborhood. It has a lot of shops, stores, restaurants and bars in walking distance. The hotel is nice and clean. The room was a bit small for price but clean, ac/ heat wotrks. The pool is nice, although to cold to use when I was there. The gym was a bit small for my liking but it has something. The staff was nice for most part. The hotel was a solid 4 stars.

We stayed in a family room at Hotel Balmes and overall found the accommodation spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The housekeeping was excellent, and the hotel staff were consistently helpful and solution-oriented. When we experienced an issue with our first room, they assisted us immediately and handled the situation with great courtesy.

However, we felt that the breakfast was quite limited for the price, and the coffee did not meet our expectations. Apart from this, our stay was enjoyable and we appreciated the hotel’s service and hospitality.

We had a great time staying here. The hotel is very clean, updated, and modern. The service is excellent, professional and friendly. The rooms are very spacious, especially for Barcelona, so are the bathrooms. It is an old building, so the walls do not have the best soundproofing, but we had pretty quiet floor and had no problems. Location is very central and surrounded by great places to eat.

Had a pleasant stay here. I booked a single room, which was cozy and clean. Service was helpful and friendly.

However, there were a few things that could be improved:
-The fitness centre has extremely limited equipment and does not have air conditioning. The heaviest dumbbell available was 5kg…
-The safe in the room was too small to fit a laptop
-Soundproofing for the door could have been better

We stayed there 4 nights, in first night around 10:30 someone kept knocking on my door wanted to get in, I called front desk, I told them it's the steam not smoke causing the bathroom steamed up, it's an alarm showed on their end, not in room. Problem is the bathroom fan was not working, room steamed up during shower, if that's the issue we, as guests, should be notified at check-in time. Next morning I questioned Front desk that guests should not be bordered at late night and it's a known problem with guest room, front desk gave me an excuse that the guy is new & not sure about the procedures. Well, that's management & training, apology was not accepted & no compensation was offered, like switch to another room that may be in better condition. I also commented on the telephone system is still being used for communication with front desk while all newer hotels are using smart system, and being a 4-Star hotel as advertised I questioned the level of service shown here & services are deteriorating & happened on first night. This is nowhere close to a 4-Star services overall. I was totally disappointed.
