My stay at Hotel Villa Real in Madrid was nothing short of impressive, and what truly sets this hotel apart is how they treat their guests when things don’t go perfectly.

During my visit, there were unforeseen construction issues and road work outside the hotel, which were completely outside of the hotel’s control. Situations like this can easily derail a stay—but Villa Real handled it with grace, professionalism, and genuine care.

From the moment the issue became apparent, the team went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Communication was transparent, solutions were proactive, and their focus was clearly on ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction at every step. Rather than offering excuses, they offered thoughtful, meaningful resolutions—the kind that make you feel valued as a guest, not just accommodated.

Beyond that, the hotel itself is elegant, beautifully maintained, and perfectly located for exploring Madrid. The service throughout the stay was warm, attentive, and polished—exactly what you expect from a top-tier hotel, and then some.

Challenges happen. What matters is how they’re handled—and Hotel Villa Real exceeded expectations. Their commitment to hospitality turned a potential inconvenience into a memorable example of outstanding customer service.

Beautiful hotel with super welcoming staff. They have gone above and beyond to meet our needs, moving my parents into less noisy room due to nearby construction and upgrading them with no cost. They also welcomed us with beautiful chocolates and water out of a a glass bottle in our rooms, which I really appreciated because of the dangerous from microplastics in plastic bottles. The bathtubs are amazing and they give you bath salts! Love it.

This was a great place to stay! In the heart of the museum triangle and walking distance to the Literary District and Plaza Mayor. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly (you can even borrow a plug converter when you forget yours). Will be staying there again the next time we visit Madrid.

Great Hotel in a very good location close to good stuff. Great restaurants, museums, walking areas, downtown, embassies, etc. staff is attentive & welcoming. The Sweet corner was a big hit for my daughter. She absolutely loved the pillows in the room & bed was comfortable. Will be back if visiting Madrid.

In 50 plus years of traveling. Our stay was the finest experience ever. This is due in great part to the amazing staff who continuously go above and beyond to address the needs of guests. The family room was quite nice except for the steps, not recommended for those with mobility issues. Derby hotels has a clear winner with villa real. It made our Madrid experience all the more special. Thank you

We enjoyed our stay. Very clean and comfortable. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was a little overpriced, but that is to be expected. The location was excellent. It took about 5 minutes to get from the train station by taxi. Everything was easy walking distance, especially the Prado and the Royal Palace. Don't miss the hotel museum, it's right behind the front desk. Great place to relax and have a glass of wine.

This is an amazing property, for us, right in the middle of everything we came to see and experience in Madrid. The service is above and beyond. So are the stately accommodations. Special acknowledgement to Concierge Manager Tania and Front Desk Manager Justyna for making this stay extra special!

Very enjoyed our stay here! The staff are so friendly and accommodated any request we had. Room service is quick and the location is great! There are so many restaurants and things to see near the area (within walking distance). The view from the balcony is beautiful. We would for sure comeback here again! The only minor thing, the sound isolation of the building is not as strong, and we could hear our neighbours laugh during the night.

We’ve been checked into this hotel recently. All the stuff are so kind and politeness，thanks to them. And there’s nice view from our room which we can see sunrise. It’s also an artistic atmosphere hotel who’s even own a museum at 1st floor. What’ more，it’s a historical building builded in 1990，and it’ really beautiful inside and outside.
