The hotel is situated in a picturesque place on the shore of the Bay near the mouth of the river Modara and mount Red Cliff. There are all conditions to relax - relaxing atmosphere, comfortable rooms, high level of service. From November to may boat trips to observe dolphins and whales.

Location: in the town of Weligama, 140 km from Colombo, 177 km from the airport. Transfer from the airport for about 4 hours. 30 min.

Total area: 16000 m2.

The hotel has 20 rooms.

Beach: public, sandy beach 20 m away, the first coastal line. The pool deck chairs, mattresses: free of charge. Pool towels: free of charge.

We had a fantastic experience at Mandara Resort Mirissa. The overall service was excellent, and the room service was always prompt, efficient, and well-organized. The staff made sure everything was perfectly arranged, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our stay.

A very special thank you to Lakma Maheshi for her outstanding service. She was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional at all times. Her warm personality and genuine kindness made us feel truly welcome. Lakma was always ready to assist with any request, no matter how small, and she handled everything with care and a positive attitude.

Her dedication, generosity, and commitment to guest satisfaction truly stand out. She goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel comfortable and valued. Because of her excellent service, our stay became even more memorable.

We highly recommend Mandara Resort Mirissa and sincerely appreciate Lakma Maheshi for making our visit so special. We look forward to returning again.

Mr Lali has an amazing ability to make you feel very welcomed. He greeted me everyday with his big small and joyful kindness. We had the great opportunity to be there in the evenings when he released the baby turtles. Beautiful site to see and his knowledge of the types of turtles a ns how to care for them is evident. The resort is beautiful and customer service was great.

A very special thank you goes to the Manager Mr.Rehan and Assistant Manager Mr.Nimal. Their leadership was evident in every detail. From the initial coordination to the final service, their personal oversight. Their passion for hospitality and attention to guest satisfaction truly set this experience apart.

We stayed here on 18th of this month. The staff is very courteous especially Maheshi who was very helpful and smiling. The beach view and the location is awesome. We wanted to extend our stay . At the time of booking do not go for riverside view as the rooms are outside the main resort. The options for Vegetarian food is limited.

Not sure why rating lower for this stay, however my experience was really good. The staffs were very nice and welcoming. The hotel setup, pool, layout and nearby beach was beautiful. They has turtle release every 5.30pm and it was really heartful to watch these turtles scuttle towards the water. They upgraded the room for us and it was very spacious with jacuzzi. The dinner and breakfast was really good with lots of options in veg. The live music team played songs next us from famous Hindi movies, they made our tired day better.
One downside is that the hotel doesn’t have lift so you have to carry the luggage’s up/down.
Another one isn’t really a big deal, but notable. We felt one of the service person alone at the restaurant was ignoring us and our requests multiple times, but was immediately responding other foreigners. Felt little bad about it. Otherwise it’s thumbs up

The location is very convenient, the room is quite large, very suitable for family travel and vacation, it is worth recommending!

The resort is in a great location if you don’t mind taking a car to Galle or Turtle Bay or Coconut Hill or walking very far down the beach. The sea which is at the front of the hotel is very brown during July time because of the overflow of the river. Also very polluted with plastics. Other beaches nearby are nice and blue. The WiFi in the room was terrible, I needed to leave the room to get signal and even then it wasn’t strong. The fitness room was just a glass room with 3 pieces of equipment, so if you’re paying for that (which I was) don’t! Swimming pool was kept very clean, and so was the room. Beautiful decor and spacious. The shower was outside in a private and enclosed courtyard area which was a surprise! Nobody could see in of course. Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly, however some younger male staff overstepped their boundaries. If you are looking to pay half board, that does not include lunch, only breakfast and dinner. Additional drinks are also not included. Dinner was delicious! Mostly, a very happy experience.

Booked two twin beds but had to share a double. Not convenient for two men but still a really nice stay. Feel like this should have been compensated in some way
