The Waves Unawatuna Hotel in Unawatuna

We had a fabulous stay here. The room was beautiful (updated from the pictures here on Trip Advisor) great air conditioning, beautifully clean with a really good shower. The staff are lovely- nothing is too much trouble, they make you feel like you’re in a 5 star resort. Just across the road from the beach - we would definitely stay here again, it was wonderful, thank you!

We stayed there for 2 nights . It was a super nice experience! Very new, modern and clean room. Nicely furnished! Great view from the balcony . The service was like in a 5 star hotel, they were constantly pampering us. Almost a little too much..😃 Also the breakfast they serve was very delicious . The place is a very nice base to explore the city and it’s surrounding.

I stayed at The Waves on Unawatuna beach for 15 nights and had an excellent stay. The staff are all welcoming and friendly, attentive but without being overly intrusive. The room was large, with air con and lots of light, thick curtains for nighttime, a large bed with clean and very comfortable bedding, sofa, large TV and a fridge. A spacious bathroom with an amazing shower. A balcony looking out over the beach. Bottled water, bathroom towels, soaps/shampoo and even a beach bag with towels and hats. Truly stunning to wake up in such comfort to the sunrise and beach every morning. An excellent one stop place to stay. The room was excellent and access to the beach was easy. The staff were lovely. The shop next door was really useful for holiday essentials. And you’re within minutes walk of all the action or a peaceful spot on the beach.

Great place with fantastic views. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Very clean, modern and the bed is very comfortable. Great shower and bathroom. Large tv, tea coffee facilities. Towels hair dryer etc, everything you need. We are a hotel owners in the uk and would highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed our stay at The Waves. Our room was only a few steps from the beach, and the restaurant was placed right on the beach. The staff was very helpful through our stay. The location itself is a reason to recommend staying at The Waves. Overall a great hotel.:)

The staff are really friendly and it was nice to have breakfast on the beach every morning. They even secured us sun loungers before we got to the beach :-) The room itself was a nice size and done up really well including the bathroom which had the most amazing shower. Wi-Fi also worked well. Thank you everyone that made our stay special, we hope to be back!

The best esspreso in Sri Lanka!

Perfect location if you like to hear the sound of the ocean when sitting on your balcony, just cross the street and you can eat or swim as you wish (best not to try those at the same time).
The owner is a very kind person who made sure everything was in order. The bed is very high quality so sleeping is heavenly. The room is larhe and the bathroom as well, with massage jets and rainhead function. (The water pression is high so it all works as it should).
Really recommend if you are looking for a nice and calm place. (At this moment the beach parties are limited because the season is just beginning, but I think most party places are a bit further down the road)

Make sure you are okay with stairs as there is no elevator.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in February 2020 and it was amazing experience!
My mom had birthday on our first day and staff arranged very pleasant surprise for her while our check in!
The room was very clean and tidy, we had cleaning every day (although not even needed it), bathroom was equipped with everything that needed. Mini-bar, fridge,kettle, free tea and bottles of water. There were even two hats and beach bag!
There are only 3 rooms at this hotel and that is very good! As you don’t even have neighbors basically: one room - one floor.
We stayed on the top floor and had perfect ocean view.
It’s very important to mention loyalty and hospitality of the staff and owner of the hotel.
Everyone was very nice!
As it was our first time to Sri Lanka we’ve booked HB. In the future I would recommend to take only breakfast, but believe me we wasn’t disappointed with our dinners at all! We had soups, main dish and dessert to chose. Everything was very delicious and portions were big. They also served local bread rather than usual one and it is very tasty! Seafood platter was great! Fruits and fresh-juices every day!
