excellent location, owners were very helpful. priced as it is, this is excellent value for money. Great view of the breakers from our deck. So close to town but very quiet also.

The staff, particularly Akalanka and Vijay, are extremely helpful and will deal with any request (E.g. Hiring a scooter, tuk-tuk hire, additional wifi, assistance with cooking, laundry, surf lessons, car hire, local knowledge, where to purchase specific items) or issue (general room repairs etc) swiftly. Benefits above other hotels include: TV and xbox in comfortable and friendly communal areas, communal kitchen, pool. Rooms are cleaned to an excellent standard, but on request (even daily).

I spent a month in this hotel. What was good: 1. Location - it's 5 min walk from the ocean and surf spots. There is a couple of good cafes nearby. 2. The quality of the room/price ratio was also good for me. 3. There was an AC in the room and it worked well. 4. There is a fridge and the electric kettle on the floor. 5. The staff helped to make some adjustments in the room for a longer stay. 6. And overall the staff is helpful. Thank you, guys. 7. The manager of the hotel Mr. Viduschan has a really good heart. 8. There's a pool in fron of the hotel. I used it only once at night. And I really liked it. 9. Cleaning was done every time I asked. And it was done well. 10. There's railroad tracks near and the train goes by several times a day. It was a fun experience for me. Didn't bother at all. 11. There are tanks with filtered water on the first floor and you can replenish your water supplies every time you want. What I didn't quite like: 1. It was very damp in the bathroom. The water from the shower gets right on the floor which is common in Sri-Lanka. And the bathroom is constantly wet and humid. In this bathroom it led to a lot of small midges and mosquitos constantly inhabiting the walls. I had to get rid of them every day. 2. The pillow cases, bed sheets and the towels sometimes were with holes in them, or stains or smell. Like not fully cleaned. In this cases I asked to change them and the staff helped. 3. There's a small kitchen on the floor but from the way it was - I had no desire at all to cook something there. It was almost not equipped. 4. I had some difficulties with the laundry first. But also with the help of staff we could work that through. 5. There's a cafe "Blanc" on top of the hotel. I remember at least 6 times when they turned on loud music at different times of the day. I had to come to them and ask to turn it down a little so that I could have a conference call. But every time they turned it down. Overall, I liked staying in Ocean Surf Bay. Quality/price ratio was good for me. It was a good experience for me. The location is once again very good. Thank you, Mr. Vidu and dear staff for this month!

The hotel is close to the beach and the best places in the city, at the same time very quiet, view of the garden, where monkeys and parrots sometimes come. The staff will always help in solving any issue.

We came for some days and stayed for 2 weeks) Simple clean rooms with air conditioner and fan, Instantaneous water heater, big balconies with fantastic Sea View. Allways quite, even in New year night you can hear only the ocean. Not street, not music from the Beach Club - just the ocean. It kept by very pleasant family now. We enjoy it as a granny's cottage at the Sea :)
