This isn't a wow factor place but is nice pleasant place to stay and good value for money. Good location with a short stroll into town past nice monkeys. Large rooms with friendly and helpful owners, who can arrange good drivers.

Serene grand "villa" is A great place to spend a few nights when visiting Kandy, the "Villa" is a sister hotel to the main hotel down the road. The " Serene Grand Hotel"

Note the "villa" shares the same website as the main hotel. So note what property your booking.

When we are next in Kandy we would definitely try to stay with this chain of hotels.

We visited in Jan 2017 and the villa looked new at that point. Every thing was up to date and worked well.

The only facilities out side the room was a small restaurant . The food was, competitively priced in rupees, and of good quality.

Most hotels were on the hills around Kandy, and from this hotel on a hill, we could walk to the centre In less then 15 mins. We paid 300 rupees to get us back up the hill from the centre.

Two other sister hotels were also on the same road so the chain of hotels were able to share resorces when needed.

Within 15 minutes Walking distance to the centre (for active people) .

Hot water availablility - Unlimited from central boiler and solar.

Shower strength - good water pressure

Room Size - A good sized double bedroom and shower room.

Hanging space and draws - adequate

Insects - Large numbers of Ants on the floor, do not leave open food in the room or open water.

Daily room cleaning - Good, and included insect treatment for the floors. Do not skip the room service or the ants will take over.

Sound proofing - excellent

Internet speed - Good for web browsing
