The hotel has a great location right in Stone City, and it's considered one of the cleaner and more modern hotels in the city. There's a rooftop restaurant, but it's quite expensive.

In the core location of Stone City, there is a highly rated restaurant on the rooftop. It takes only five minutes to walk to the night market. The free shortbread for check-in is very fragrant and delicious. The room is clean and comfortable. I will stay here again next time I go to Stone City

The hotel facilities are very old, especially the ventilation system in the bathroom. When I was in the bathroom, there was a sudden explosion, which caught me off guard. Maru Maru Hotel is a good choice in Stone Town - central location and easy to explore everything on foot. The staff were warm and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The only downside was the noise, which made the nights a bit loud and restless.

I prefered Nungwi beach and made a reservation for the Canary hotel in Nungwi beach but without my permission they changed my hotel to the Canary hotel in Kendwa beach which is far away 15 minutes by car from Nungwi. This is a lovely hotel in a historic building. It’s walking distance to all the sights of Stonetown. Our room was clean and comfortable. The balcony looked out to the Indian Ocean.
