The staff were truly amazing and very helpful! The rooms were extremely clean and paid attention to detail too. I highly recommend. Everything is in a walkable distance and great value for money. There also wasn’t any noise at all and the amenities were all easily accessible.

This review is at least 10 years late, but Google pics me took down memory lane when we visited the hotel's restaurant back in 2015, we preferred to eat here as opposed to the Double Tree Hotel we were staying that was about a few meters away (pity it's now closed) but the food was absolutely phenomenal, I vividly remember the lady chef (hopefully she's still there) served us like absolute royalty...

This hotel is quiet and lovely, with big rooms and kind staff, very close to the beach. The food was delicious, for dinner it's possible to have room service. We had some problems with wifi, but the staff was so kind to solve it immediately. The hotel is closely involved with tours to climb Kilimanjaro and some safaris. The main impression is that it is friendly and efficient. Food is good and gear can be hired. You can store items for safe keeping while climbing. The hotel is out of town and gated. The grounds are attractive. However some of the rooms are a bit basic. There were some local youths that showed us safe passage and starfish, sea spiders, lionfish, etc. right there on our beach for a small fee. For swimming the hotel pool was beautiful. Hakuna Majiwe is a safe, clean, and well-maintained location, offering a pleasant living environment. It is advisable to prepare a well-structured budget, as there may be unexpected costs, such as the Zanzibar government tourism taxes. While prices are somewhat higher than average, which is typical for similar destinations, the quality of services provided is excellent and meets expectations.

We loved having a 3 bedroom suite with a living area and private baths for all. So nice to be all together yet in our own space, The food was good and the service was too! Unfortunately the property isn't licensed. That's the only hesitation I would have on returning.

The staff received us very warmly and the three bedroom villa we shared was comfortable, the beds were soft enough and pillows very fluffy. Ali was very helpful and on call to ensure we enjoyed our two nights stay. The resort does not serve alcohol but he was able to organize for us what we wanted from outside moreover late in the night. The pool is clean and quiet. Generally a very good place to chill...

Stayed at the place for 5 days.everything was excellent. food was good . villas were clean and spacious and the private pool option bomb. check-in/check-out was super efficient. the beach just wowed us very clean and Christal clear waters. the place is a dry place so plan accordingly. wi-fi is fast and stable throughout the place. excellent place for family or couples get away.
