TOA Hotel & Spa Zanzibar in Pongwe

Everything was great. Great food (including lots of seafood every day, great cocktails), engaging live performances by artists every evening. Also, the beach is maintained every morning, cleaned of algae. Also super good service. Starting with cleaning the rooms, ending with the helpfulness of the staff both in the restaurant and in all bars. First of all, I want to thank Mariam very much for her constant care for us, her inner warmth and great aura. Thanks to Mariam, my wife and I had a wedding anniversary (25 years), which we celebrated with dinner on the beach, was perfect. Also thanks to the bartenders - waiters Josephat, Asia, Paulina, Jeremiah, Shabani and of course the bar supervisor Ernest. Also thanks to all the other hotel staff, including the coconut keeper - our entertainer Muhamed and the lobster-tuna baker (sorry I can't remember his name, he was a tall guy) during the beach dinners. Thanks to all these people, our two-week vacation was wonderful.

The amazing place! Food , cleaning , personal are splendid ! They find my wallet in the room after departure and ship it to me in Europe ! We had a wonderful holiday with kids ! I would recommend always to friend ! Anyone from the staff are so kind and always on your disposal !

We recently stayed at TOA Hotel & Spa in Zanzibar and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautifully clean and modern, with a calm, relaxing atmosphere that was exactly what we were looking for. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay, which made the whole experience feel even more special. We would especially like to thank Esther, Jeremiah, Ernest, Seif, Yemes and Jennifer! The location is wonderfully peaceful, set right on a stunning stretch of white‑sand beach that feels almost untouched. It was the perfect place to unwind. We also loved the pool bar and beach bar—both offered great vibes and excellent evening entertainment that added a fun touch to our nights without ever feeling intrusive. Overall, a fantastic stay in a beautiful setting. We’d happily return and highly recommend TOA Hotel & Spa to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Zanzibar.

Nice quite location, very clean, friendly. Service and food was delicious. Wide choice , fresh juices, great hotel for your stay. Tide was very strong.

We stayed 6 nights at Toa Hotel & Spa and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very spacious, well equipped, comfy bed and very clean. We had half board and the food was very good with lots of choice. All of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and looked after us very well. Would recommend.

We recently stayed at TOA Hotel & Spa, about an 80-minute drive from the airport. Overall the resort was a very nice, though not perfect, experience. We arrived before noon but were able to check into our three rooms almost immediately, which was a great start. The Royal Suite was particularly enjoyable, offering a fantastic view. The resort is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the pool and beach bars make for a relaxing atmosphere. Even during the Xmas holiday season, the resort never felt overcrowded: no need for the usual “towel game” for lounge chairs. On the downside, while the BBQ parties on the beach were fun, the regular food could have used more variety. Music at meal times was often too loud, making conversation difficult. Some guests smoked at the outdoor tables; a total smoking ban would improve the dining experience. We also experienced frequent power outages that left the A/C off, and the internet connection was slow and patchy. It's important to note that the ocean is very shallow. Even at high tide, you have to walk hundreds of meters from the shore to swim. Luckily, the pool was excellent. Leaving the hotel beach meant being approached immediately by persistent hawkers.

Realy Nice hotel! Good pool and at The Beach. Enough comfort beds to stay at the Beach and pool. Nice and clean rooms with a big balcony. Good en fluffy bed. Nice waiters and give you all the Jambo you need! The food is also very good. Recommend this! Hakuna Matatta!

Great location, great service, great rooms, great food, great live music and dance. Arrangements for snorkelling and Swimming with the dolphins was a fantastic experience, sea side dance and music performance was fascinating. Staff was jolly and friendly.
