Munchies Resort in Baan Tai

The photos are deceiving, we wernt expecting much but it was worse than we thought. The room was absolutely roasting, no air con- 1 fan. The room and bathroom are beyond dated , the flooring was all tore and ripped. The bar wasn’t open once when we were there and the pool looked awful. We stayed for the full moon party and checked out as soon as we could. It is quite far , about 15 minute drive from the centre. For the price you could stay somewhere else far better. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

We travelled all over Thailand for 2 months and this was the most disappointing place we stayed. Paid 3 nights, stayed 1. The cabins are rustic and looked cute in pics, but ours smelled strongly of mould (could see it on the walls). The bathroom especially had no ventilation, smelled strongly of mould and was a big step down from the cabin.
I got a bunkbed for my kids, but the top bunk did not have a side bar, so it was a long fall if she rolled off, so despite my effort of having my own bed, my child had to sleep with me.
If you could sleep through the noise of the pump just outside, you were woken at 5am by the rooster and hens that did circles around the bungalow.
A stray dogs was constantly on our deck (which scared my daughters) and a few more were on the beach.
It was really far from restaurants and shops, so became a chore to take the kids out for food (there was none on the property at least at the time of year we stayed).
The owner seemed pleasant, but very removed. Didn't even ask why we were leaving.
The pool was nice, but not enough to make up for all the other things for us (plus the dogs were around the pool).
Maybe nice for a 'backpackers' experience, but about the same price as several other places just down the beach where we actually slept through the night, had a pool and didn't smell wet mould.
