Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa in Bophut

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this beach bar and resort! Everything was simply perfect from start to finish. The attention to every single detail truly impressed us – you can really see how much care and effort has been put into creating such a beautiful atmosphere.

The resort itself is stunning, with breathtaking surroundings and a relaxing vibe that makes you feel at home instantly. The beach bar is fantastic – great drinks, wonderful ambiance, and exceptional service. The staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming.

We were especially amazed by the pool area. The effort and dedication put into maintaining it and designing the space around it is outstanding. It’s clean, stylish, and perfectly arranged for both relaxation and enjoyment.

Overall, we are beyond satisfied and truly impressed. We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a perfect getaway!

This venue came highly recommended to us and it lived up to all expectations.On walking in through the magnificent gardens to the restaurant you are met by the most attentive staff .You will be captivated by the restaurant which is absolutely gorgeous.We had a table on the waterfront it was magnificent.
We chose the seafood banquet omg to die for ….yes it was so fresh ,delicious and the presentation (see pics )
The wine list was extensive as well ,we chose a Pinot Grigio from Italy paired beautifully.
Dessert was amazing
Zazen has absolutely nailed it …the attention to detail,the food choices ,the atmosphere and the decor which I believe was updated maybe a year ago.
I found the staff to be so engaging and happy to help with dietary requirements and above all very attentive without over doing it

On another note I was fortunate to have their Signature Aromatherapy massage let me tell you if you can just do it !!!!

Zazen has a beautiful setting, but unfortunately the overall experience did not fully meet expectations.

The spa and massage services were excellent — professional therapists, relaxing atmosphere, and very well-maintained facilities. The hotel surroundings are stunning: lush greenery, flowing water features, beachfront location, beautiful views, and a peaceful tropical atmosphere. Housekeeping also deserves praise — the rooms were cleaned thoroughly, and the cleaners were friendly and attentive.

However, the service level was very disappointing. There were many staff members around, but most of them seemed inactive or unsure of their roles. This felt like a management issue rather than individual staff attitude (or both). Service at the restaurant was extremely slow, even when it was not busy. We were also repeatedly pushed to buy expensive imported bottled water, which feels unnecessary and not environmentally responsible in today’s world.

There was no service at the beach or pool area at all — not even complimentary drinking water.

The front desk was unable to help with most requests and struggled to follow through, even with simple issues like fixing a clogged drain. Overall, everything took an unusually long time, from service requests to basic assistance.

Zazen has great potential thanks to its location and spa, but significant improvements in service, leadership, and efficiency are needed to match the beautiful surroundings.

We had the best time at Zazen Resort which is absolutely exceptional. The setting is stunning, with lush tropical gardens beautifully maintained and a peaceful beachfront that feels private and exclusive.

The villas are spacious, tastefully decorated, and offering the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. The staff was also incredibly kind, attentive, and always smiling, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay.

The restaurant is another highlight. We really enjoyed the delicious food whether for breakfast, lunch, or for the theme dinner nights by the sea.

We loved to chill by the pool and the beach all day and enjoy the amazing food and beautiful setting !

On my first day on Koh Samui, I stayed at Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa.

The resort had a calming atmosphere, surrounded by tropical greenery, and was very charming. Even the room interior had a touch of Thai flair.

The on-site restaurant was beautiful, and the location, offering ocean views while dining, was fantastic. To be honest, though, the service was a little lacking, and the young female staff member at the check-in counter seemed a bit awkward at times. The facilities were also quite old. These two points were a bit disappointing, considering the restaurant's lovely atmosphere.

Still, spending time enjoying the pleasant breeze on the beach was exceptional, and the environment was perfect for relaxation on my first day of my trip. It was a great start to my stay on Koh Samui, building up my anticipation for the following day.

The best resort and boutique hotel! Every staff member was so attentive, they knew us by name, and they fulfilled our every need! The breakfast was fantastic, the selection, and the quality was a dream.

This time I had a great experience staying at the hotel in Koh Samui! The room is spacious and bright, decorated in a tropical style, with a large balcony facing the beautiful sea view, and you can enjoy the sunset on the lounge chair. The service staff is warm and considerate, and they provide refreshing drinks and welcome fruits when you check in, and take the initiative to clean the room and replenish supplies every day. The breakfast is rich in variety, with both Thai specialties and Western food, and the taste is amazing! I will choose here again next time I come to Koh Samui!
