Koh Chang Thai Garden Hill Resort in Chang Island

Pros: Fantastic landscaping and pool area. Decent a/c. Nice size bed. Breakfast ok. TV channel selection was actually quite decent.
Cons: HORRIFIC bathroom. The staff weren't real happy or helpful, but I did manage to borrow a blow dryer for one night. The balcony doors did not close well at all, and we had a visiting lizard in the room every night. Kettle in room was advertised, we asked for one and never got it. We happened to be put in a room that was particularly run down ( closest to the reception) and our internet was mediocre most of the time.
With a face lift in the rooms, particularly the bathrooms, this could be a stellar property. A little attitude adjustment with the staff wouldn't hurt either.

After checking out, I realized that I had accidentally left my headphones on the bed. The following day, I contacted the accommodation both by email and via Facebook, asking them to send the headphones to my home in the same country at my expense. I did not receive any response.

One week later, I followed up again through both channels, but once more I received no reply.

Given the complete lack of communication, it unfortunately gives the impression that they may have simply intended to keep my headphones. Overall, this situation feels highly unprofessional.

I stayed for six nights. The first five days were in a room that was only relatively clean… but I decided to stay because the pool is amazing and the location is close to restaurants, 7/11 and the beach.
When I wanted to extend my stay, the only option was to change rooms. The “new” room was, simply put, filthy. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for months, if not longer. The bathroom was not cleaned at all — they had only poured water on it. It was dirty, contaminated, like a public toilet.
The guy who showed me the room disappeared immediately when he saw my shocked reaction. I went to reception and asked them to at least send someone to clean the bathroom. When they did, it became clear that this was not wear and tear from many years — it was just dirt, grime and total neglect.
The doors don’t close properly and there are many gaps for insects and mosquitoes to enter. A shabby, dirty room! I woke up in the morning with swollen eyes from mosquito bites.
Of course, I immediately went to ask to move back to my previous room. They looked a bit alarmed and asked if I wanted to cancel — I said yes right away. I got my money back for the four nights, which is the only decent thing I can say about the two unpleasant men at the reception. They looked sour and never smiled — unless I smiled first, and then they twisted their lips into something that resembled a smile.
Again, aside from the beautiful pool, this hotel — or rather this trash dump — is not worth a single cent!!!

Booked a family room for 3 people and 7 nights. The day before we arrived they sent a message saying they were out of family rooms even after already confirming. They said we could have a mattress on the floor but could not give a discount. We accepted and got on with it, this was not an issue as we couldn’t have found anywhere else on the island for 7 nights last minute. After the first night I woke up absolutely covered in bites from what I would guess is bed bugs. I’ve been traveling for 3 months and never had any issues or bites like this and this was the most premium place I had payed for. After letting the manager know they said they couldn’t refund the money and if my 2 friends wanted to stay for the rest of the time they would have to pay the full price. The staff were very rude and reluctant to help. One of the men at the property was refusing to admit the bites happened there. After me and my friend spoke to them for about 20/30 minutes explaining how they had messed us around and that we wanted a full refund they finally accepted and let us out to find a stay for 6 more nights on a busy island with no accommodation
