Arawana Express Chinatown, Bangkok1 / 30
8.0
Bangkok, 204, 206, 208 14 Charoen Krung Road, Samphanthawong (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Its rooms are typically far more spacious than those in similarly priced budget chains, which makes a real difference if you’re traveling with large luggage or staying for an extended period
The decor may feel a bit dated, and you might notice some wear in the elevator, air conditioning noise, or bathroom fixtures. It’s best not to judge it by the standards of a modern star-rated hotel
If you redirect the money you save on accommodation toward enjoying bird’s nest delicacies or a seafood feast in Chinatown, you’ll quickly realize how wise this trade-off can be
The hotel sits on the edge of Chinatown, tucked into quieter side streets. Within a two-minute walk, you can be in the heart of the bustling food district or at MRT Wat Mangkon
For travelers who value a good night’s sleep but still want to stay in the old quarter, this balance of tranquility and convenience is a definite plus
Instead, think of it as a generously sized private space with an en-suite bathroom—comfortable, practical, and excellent value for its location

I was there to pick up my tourists so no rating on the room. In general, I do like the hospitality from the hotel staff, they are quite friendly. It was kind of coffee shop and breakfast inside the hotel reception too
I arrived at 3am in the morning. They let me in and I rested by the pool. Thanks you! The locker facilities to leave luggage is very useful. The food was beautifully presented.
We paid the same price as we would have for 2 dorm beds in a hostel for a nice big hotel room. Very clean with a big comfortable bed. Good location but quite as it’s set back from the street
The staff are very friendly, the food is amazing we were also given a free upgrade on arrival which was really nice. The pool is small so not very good for swimming lengths but perfect for chilling in
The only downside and it’s small is the lighting in the room was quite dull even with all the lights on, this is minor thing so I would not knock them down for such a small thing
Very good place to stay. Staff are very friendly and the location is great. The room is very good and the swimming pool is excellent we were very happy.

Staff were friendly, and went out of the way to help you (for a 3 star hotel). We checked in at 2am+, but the staff were pleasant and carried out their duties dutifully despite the late night
Always stay here when we have a meeting at the UN offices. Within walking distance. Great value for money. Largest breakfast selection I have yet to see. Great staff. Comfortable rooms. Clean pool.
The room was of average cleanliness. We found a few ants on the night stand. However, they disappeared after a couple nights. Range of food was limited, but good for a hotel of its size
Overall, it was a good experience
Unlike the male receptionist with chinky eyes. He is the best opposite of the old man. He did not smile while talking to us. He keeps on insisting about about our arrival and departure in our passport
Rooms comfortable but old fashioned and especially the bathroom feels very outdated. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is offered through a buffet with a lot of options, both local and international food.

Bangkok, Phraeng Sanphasat Road, 114 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Breakfast is small but delicious, offering something for everyone: cereal, a couple of hot dishes, sausages, vegetables, coffee, toast, butter, jam, milk, some fruit, and eggs cooked in a frying pan upon request
The only downside for us was that it was served on the fifth floor landing, where we were staying. It was also noisy (at least for me) when they brought dishes, prepared the buffet, and other guests arrived
It's easy to arrange airport transfers through them. Everything is clean, which is important. There's a self-service laundry for just 40 baht, plus a free dryer
Only negative point is that it was a little far from the MRT (20 min walking) but otherwise, the neighborhood is calm and we have no complaints
The hotel is very conveniently located. There are plenty of 7/11s nearby with groceries, snacks, and cold drinks
The main popular spots in the historic district, including the Grand Palace and the never-sleeping Khaosan Road, are within easy walking distance. The staff is friendly, smiling, and helpful

Very nice stay at khao San palace hotel, very nice staff and helpful, nice rooms and very good location for a solo traveller. I met lots of people on khao San road as the location was fantastic
I would definitely stay again when I come back to khao San road
Good location, strong wifi, clean room
We know that it's gonna be noisy but never know that it's that noisy, one night for party it was fun and convenient nearby there's everything but for 2 nights in a row🫨, but the staff was so lovely i would never forget the kindness thanks again
The location is great if you’re into nightlife , it’s right in the middle of the action with easy access to bars and clubs. However, if you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing stay, this might not be the best choice

The accommodation was clean and very quiet, I couldn't hear any noise from Khao San Road. There was a balcony to look out at the street view. The atmosphere was good because it was raining, but not too much
Nice ,welcoming and helpful staff. The hotel location is very good nearly in the pub street but there is no noise. they have rooms with balcony which is the goal of hotel for me
Room is clean just have some spots at bed sheets. may be if they put a small cattle it will be more nice but any way have a small fridge. 7/11 is just cross the street
It is a tiny and simple room, good location, nice staffs, but it took me a while to find the front door, the address show on trip.com is quite weird.
A decent overnight hotel, well worth the price. We stayed here because it was close to the Bonsuri office.
Cheap prices and good location. Hotel staffes so kind and helpful.

8.8
Bangkok, 134 6 Ban Phan Thom Rd. (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Clean and well-maintained hostel. Perfect if you want a calm place to spend the night. The personal are very kind, and the location feels remote, while being in walking distance from Khaosan Road and multiple temples
The service (paid) for washing your clothes is appreciable. It's a shame, however, that our private room has no direct access and that we have to go through a 4-person dormitory to access it
The youth hostel has a lot of charm and it's very nice to sit on one of the outdoor tables at any time of the day. The room, bathroom and toilets were very clean
The hostel does not offer any noteworthy social area or bar/restaurant
The same goes from our bedroom to the bathroom and toilet
Excellent location. Very quiet, pleasant setting. Fairly hard mattress. Decent cleanliness, but terrible smells in the shower. Dark room, dilapidated style, without charm. No elevator. Fairly average quality/price ratio.

I ordered the lasagna, which was served very hot and had a classic, comforting taste. We also tried the traditional local breakfast, which my husband really enjoyed. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance
They require a deposit, but it secures a window seat worth it since seating is limited and the amount is deducted from your final bill. Just don’t expect a large space, as the restaurant is quite small
The best view: the location is right opposite to the temple of dawn 🧭 Unique ambience: it's more than a hotel, but you ll learn stories once stepped in 📺 Community-based friendly: this family own business takes local way of life into consideration! 🌿 Highly recommended for quality time off 🕐☕👍🏼
We visited TYME Restaurant @ Inn A Day for its stunning view of Wat Arun, and it definitely lived up to the scenery. The view alone makes the visit worthwhile
Getting there was a bit frustrating, as our Grab driver had difficulty locating the place, and we had to figure it out ourselves which can be challenging for tourists. As for the food, it was good overall
Although it's small, its location is excellent, right in the alley across from Wat Arun, making it very convenient to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun. The breakfast was excellent—rich, nutritious, and delicious

The room was nice enough, and clean. The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
Very nice place, cheap, convenient, quiet, clean! Entrance through car repear, don't miss the turn ))
There is a 7-Eleven right nearby, and the metro station is easily accessible, making it simple to get around. I particularly appreciated how easy it was to travel to the airport independently from this location
Simple, but very clean and organised room with balcony. The owner was very helpful and the location is quite conveniently close to BTS and a big convention centre.
Very affordable and the room is clean and good for long term stay.
The accommodation was clean and situated right on the main road. There's a convenience store on the ground floor. What's more, you can use your ID card as a security deposit.

Room is very cozy and staffs are friendly and warm. My room is with balcony so we can see the river view anytime. It’s very beautiful especially during sunset. Severals cats at the hotel and they’re all cute and playful
Great river view with peaceful. If you are CAT lover, don't miss here !
Nestled right on the Chao Phraya River, this hotel offers a wonderfully natural and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. We highly recommend it for anyone seeking a peaceful and comfortable escape
This is a peaceful place, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle. They even have cats to play with! The only minor drawback is that it's quite a walk from the parking area.
We absolutely loved our stay here! The accommodation was spotlessly clean, and the service was outstanding

I found Yak Thai through google when looking for traditional Thai costume, and after research I decided to rent Thai costume, also booked for photographer service from them🫶 First their staff is nice and kind, as I got cold sore on my mouth before I went to Thailand, and when I went to the shop the staff ask me how I feel now, that’s so heart warming🥰 At the same time a hostel guest just back from...
Great location! Loved waking around the neighborhood. We arrived late at night and had no trouble checking in. The front desk staff at night was a bit grumpy. All in all a great stay to families.
We traveled with a young child and picked this hotel as we wished to visit the surrounding temples. The staff gave us a warm welcome, assisted with the luggage storage and helped booking a taxi to reach the airport
The room is comfortable and clean, the staff is very helpful & welcoming. Quiet and well located, just opposite Wat Ratchabophit and not to far from the Sam Yot MRT station.
They also gave us good recommendations regarding the area. It was a great experience that we will remember
Convenient check-in with key deposit for friends who arrive late near midnight.

She was was there each day doing a little bit of everything from ushering me to my room upon check-in, to bring me breakfast by the side of the river in the morning to waiting with me to be sure my taxi arrived
Now stayed twice at the Aurun The River Place and have loved both times. The receptionist was really friendly and made checking in most pleasant
My Wife was so happy with this welcome that she bought her a bunch of flowers as thanks. We were satisfied with the accommodations
I had booked a room with partial river views and to my surprise it even had a small balcony. I would definitely stay again!
The room was maintained in a state of good cleanliness, and appropriately furnished with essential amenities
The staff during the day was super nice, friendy and accommodating. Oh boy, the lady on duty at night was the complete opposite - not friendly and very cold. The wifi was problematic even at night

Super hotel, the staff are pleasant and attentive to all services, everything is perfect, nothing to complain about. And with TRIP, the price is just below average, excellent!
The room is good, the facilities are good, everything is available. In front of the hotel, there is a small market where you can walk and eat.
I really like it here. Staff are lovely and place so nice. Must visit!!

The hotel is excellently located, next to the pier, bus stop, there is a bus from the airport, very convenient. Stayed for two nights. We were placed in the wrong room that we had booked, which was disappointing.
This is hands down the best hotel for bangkok for digital nomads. No matter what other reviews say; they are always some ups and downs when you are in bootique homestayish place but this was outstanding.
Some confusion about whether our room would have a river view which is why I chose it. Although the window didn't face the river directly, we could see the Chao Phraya River and King Rama VIII Bridge so we were happy
The restaurant was reasonably priced and right on the river. Easy access to the ferry and a nice park and Khao San Road. I loved the location but not easy to find for taxi drivers 😂
We had to walk a few minutes to the hotel from the main road, but it was a good experience getting to see how people live around this area. Great and keep up the good work! Room 302
The staff were not the friendliest that I have encountered and I was surprised that the room was not cleaned daily. Overall good value for the location but it was still low season

We loved our stay here! Small family owned hotel with traditional Thai furnishing, in a great central location
It doesn’t do breakfast, that’s clearly stated so we knew that but they directed us to a lovely cafe just 5 minutes away so don’t winge about that, we would love to go back but could not get in a second time unfortunately, great stay in a house instead of the corporate hotels
This is a great little place, we stayed two extra days after our original booking because of cancelled flight due to Iranian mess. It’s so quiet with lots of birds calls in the morning. The resident cats are so sweet
Mattress and pillows were very comfortable. Cheap and good massage shop two doors away. Cafes, restaurants and street food within walking distance. Khao San market within walking distance for food and drinks
What an amazing place! Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfy, had a little sitting room, and we even had our own private spa/pool. The hotel was close to everything
Lovely, quiet hotel near to the Grand Palace, the National Museum, Khao San night market, and several temples. The rooms are beautifully furnished, and the staff are very friendly and helpful

After a long day in the busy city, coming back here felt like returning to a little oasis away from the chaos. The area is very quiet and peaceful, with some nice small restaurants nearby
The breakfast every morning was delicious, and Bai at the front desk is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet (and his English is outstanding)
A big thank you to Khun Pei and his colleague, whose name we unfortunately didn’t catch. You were amazing hosts and made our stay truly special

Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable (the beds and shower were great!). The aircon was very powerful, and kept us cool. Jason, the owner was amazing! Extremely attentive and kind
This list was a godsend! We had planned our trip ahead of time, but the additional restaurants and places to see made our trip so much better! Jason also put us in touch with a staff member in Krabi, Mobi who was so so helpful during our time there! The reception staff were also really lovely and helpful, giving us recommendations of what to do and where to eat in Bangkok, helping us book restaurants...
The breakfast was gorgeous! We had the opportunity to have a traditional Thai breakfast, which was beautiful, some of the best breakfast we had in our two week trip across Thailand
After learning we were travelling to Chiang Mai, Krabi and then Phuket next, he gave us a long list of his favourite restaurants, markets and other sites
Incredible place and really friendly staff. The whole place has an incredible decor (vintage) and real nice vibe. Only had breakfast (don't know if they have diner) but that was good as well.

The best part of this hostel is the free bicycle. You can take it out for a city ride anytime. As a big bicycle lover, this was perfect for me

This is the best number! But you need to climb up to the third floor via a narrow staircase, and it will be extremely difficult with suitcases. Comfortable bed, air conditioning, not too hot, access card, clean
Many good food options nearby and walkable to an MRT station. It was surprisingly quiet in the mornings and I was able to go to the temples like Wat Pho before all the tourists arrived later on in large groups
Everything went well because I was aware of this set-up from the Agoda app and reviews. The room was spacious for the small size of the property and bathroom was also lovely with beautiful tiles
I wanted to avoid the crowds of downtown Bangkok and this hotel which is near the Grand Palace was perfect. The views of the temples were amazing. I booked the most expensive room
It had an "L" shaped balcony (which I had all to myself) with awesome views of the temples on both sides of the river. The grand palace was also slightly visible at a distance
Just remember you need to check in at the restaurant closer to the river and then go up back to the top of the street to enter the hotel which is above a functioning cafe
