I was in room 305. This is the best number! But you need to climb up to the third floor via a narrow staircase, and it will be extremely difficult with suitcases. Comfortable bed, air conditioning, not too hot, access card, clean. This is my second time staying here and I'd be happy to come back. It's quiet at night, there are almost no cars.

I took a risk and booked this place last year and it was an excellent choice. Totally worth it for the money spent and the magical views. Just remember you need to check in at the restaurant closer to the river and then go up back to the top of the street to enter the hotel which is above a functioning cafe. Everything went well because I was aware of this set-up from the Agoda app and reviews. The room was spacious for the small size of the property and bathroom was also lovely with beautiful tiles. I wanted to avoid the crowds of downtown Bangkok and this hotel which is near the Grand Palace was perfect. The views of the temples were amazing. I booked the most expensive room. It had an "L" shaped balcony (which I had all to myself) with awesome views of the temples on both sides of the river. The grand palace was also slightly visible at a distance. It was magical to see the brightly lit temples at dusk and the quiet surroundings of that same area at dawn. The river was nearby for me to take a quick ferry to Wat Arun. Many good food options nearby and walkable to an MRT station. It was surprisingly quiet in the mornings and I was able to go to the temples like Wat Pho before all the tourists arrived later on in large groups. No taxis or commute needed for me; just a quick walk from the hotel to the temples. It was nice to be able to go into the temples before the crowds showed up. There's no lift so you have to walk up to your room but I didn't mind because I was traveling light. Very safe area. The King of Thailand and Royal family live nearby at the Grand Palace. There's also a good mix of cheap food options at the same prices that locals pay and also high-end, swanky cafes / restaurants. I just love Thailand and also discovered a very nice area to stay at in Bangkok.🙏

easy to accessible to phra nakhon tourist attractions and super restaurants with tasty food, bakery, coffee and charming sunset atmosphere. Don't expect too much about service from this (budget) hotel - be more self service (but that's still ok)

My wife chose the hotel because of the great location. We were surprised that it was so affordable but didn't think much of it. Now I know why it was so cheap. In order to check in you have to go to a different building (nobody tells you about this though. Luckily there was a nice lady who sold tours who told us where to go). Once checked in we noticed that there was no hair dryer. So back to the other building and had to leave a deposit to get the hair dryer. To get into the room it always took forever because the automated lock wouldn't recognize the key right away. After a sleepless night because of a mattress that was hard as concrete (we checked under the sheets and it was actually some type of leather cushion, not a real mattress), we took a shower. You couldn't properly adjust the temperature, so you either got burned or were freezing and the water pressure came and went as it pleased.
Turned out the precious hair dryer wasn't working properly either but when we tried to reach somebody at the other building we found the door closed and when we called the automated voice message simply told us that nobody was available and to call later (which makes me wonder what would have happened if our key had stopped working completely during the night. Guess we would have not been able to get back into the room at all).
While the room was clean it was very outdated and in desperate need of renovation. We decided to leave after the first night and go to a real hotel. If you're on a budget and backpacking through Asia this might work for you but if you have just a little bit of money to spare I'd go somewhere else.

Great value for money of such a great location 👌 the room was small but comfortable and quiet. The place has a rustic look, like an old harbor pub. You need to be a bit sporty for going up the 3 level stairs because there's no lift.

We stayed here in the end of Feb. 2016. The staff were friendly & the location was in a convenient spot for walking to Wat Pho and the flower market. Relatively quiet area.

The deal breaker was that we noticed there were bed bugs the day we were leaving (I spotted at least five). The whole morning was spent cleaning and triple checking our luggage. The staff were not around in the morning when we left to tell about our issues.

I don't know if this is something recent or an on going problem, but I want to warn others of this issue.
