Blue Tara Hotel Krabi Ao Nang in Ao Nang

The staff were kind and helpful. The swimming pool was nice, and the location is very good — close to the beach, restaurants, and the night market. The room design was pleasant, and the towel decoration was a nice touch.

Unfortunately, our room had a serious mosquito problem. I have never seen this amount of mosquitoes in my life. Most of them were in the bathroom, and every time we wanted to take a shower, we first had to fight with mosquitoes.

The bathroom did not feel clean at all and clearly needs renovation or at least deep cleaning. The toilet was yellowish, there were visible stains and dirt in the bathtub, mold in the shower area, and poor finishing around fixtures. Dust and dirt were also visible on the toilet paper holder and other surfaces.

Another issue was the shower drainage. Water did not flow properly toward the drain and instead collected in some areas, which made the bathroom feel uncomfortable and unhygienic. This did not seem to be a blockage but rather an incorrect slope of the shower floor.

On the first day, the refrigerator was leaking, and all my backpack got completely wet. After we informed the staff, they fixed it, but it was still an unpleasant experience.

I am not a picky person at all, but during this stay I was honestly just counting the nights until check-out.

We stayed at Blue Tara Hotel for a short getaway in Ao Nang. The location is quite convenient — about a 20–30 minute walk to Ao Nang Beach, 7-Eleven within 5 minutes, and Kodam Kitchen about 10–15 minutes away. Tuk-tuks (both bike and car types) are easily accessible just outside the hotel, and there are massage shops right across the road. The overall environment around the hotel is moderately quiet.

The room itself was comfortable, but a few areas could be improved. The bathroom looked slightly dated and not very well maintained, and the balcony was dusty and not properly cleaned. Toiletries felt very minimal as well. However, the reception staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in was smooth.

We booked our stay with their breakfast buffet included. The buffet spread was very small — possibly the smallest I’ve seen across my travels — likely due to fewer guests staying. However, the items they did prepare were fresh and made with good quality. The breads and pastries were surprisingly good; the muffins were soft and delicious. You can also order a few hot dishes from the counter. We tried the fried rice, and it was genuinely tasty — I still miss it now. The English breakfast was average. They also had basic cereals and a few juices like pineapple juice.

Overall, it was a decent stay — pleasant location, friendly staff, and surprisingly good bakery items for breakfast, though cleanliness and room maintenance could be improved.
