Reviews
I absolutely loved this place — everything was amazing! I had a room right in front of the pool, and the view was truly breathtaking. There are so many cute and delicious restaurants nearby, just make sure to bring cash. I can’t wait to come back!
No electricity at day time but it is ok as I didn’t spend time in hotel when electricity was off. Rooms looks very old and poorly maintained. As please for just sleeping at night ok
No bugs inside, just couple ants was founded 🐜
Big spiders and cute monkeys on territory.
The hotel is good, breakfasts are standard, and the staff is very friendly. There's an interesting point about the electricity, which is available on a schedule, but it doesn't cause any major issues.
I recommend this hotel.
100 baht for a long boat that drops you off in knee deep water. Then a short walk to the resort.
So peaceful, nice beach, great pool and good option to eat very close by.
Basic room was clean and all you need for short stays.
Great to see monkeys bouncing through the trees.
Everyone, please stay at Ao Lei Beach! To get to this hotel, you absolutely have to take a boat from Ao Lei Beach. And these boats! Be warned ⚠️ – you are 100% guaranteed to get wet! This is because their boats can't dock very close to the shore, and there's no proper pier. So, if you're carrying valuable items like laptops or cameras, make sure to lift them onto the boat first, and you'll need to wear super-short shorts to board! Every trip felt incredibly nerve-wracking! If you're staying at a hotel on Ao Lei Beach, leave your luggage there and always bring a waterproof phone case and camera protector if you plan to come here.
This hotel is located on Ton Sai Beach. It's a 15-minute walk over a hill to get to Railay Beach, where you can go rock climbing! This island is famous for rock climbing. In short, absolutely, positively do NOT stay on this island! Also, after 6 PM, there are no boats available from this island. You'll need to charter one. For example, a regular trip for one person might be 100 Thai Baht, but if there are no boats, chartering one for two people could cost 1000 Thai Baht!
Of course, it only takes 10 minutes to get from this island to Ao Lei Beach. Also, if you run out of Thai Baht on this island, exchanging RMB is incredibly expensive – 1000 RMB only gets you 2500 Thai Baht. We refused their offer because it was such a rip-off! Make sure you bring enough Thai Baht. Personally, I think one person needs at least 20,000 Thai Baht for a 7-day trip.
The hotel itself is practically in a forest, so expect mosquitoes, wasps, and other wildlife. Monkeys, possibly a rare breed with white rings around their eyes like pandas, also live in this forest and can be observed every morning. The hotel has two decent swimming pools. The beach is a 5-minute walk through the neighboring hotel's property. Tonsai Bay is surrounded by picturesque cliffs on all sides. There are several local restaurants near the hotel. You can also walk (or take a longtail boat for 100 baht per person) to Railay Beach via a path through the cliffs along the sea (about 15-20 minutes, even with a child). On Railay's walking street, you'll find cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. There's another trail through the forest to Railay, but it's longer and has more mosquitoes.
The best beach in the area is Phra Nang, about a 30-minute walk from the hotel through Railay.
