This was the best hotel we've ever stayed at, despite the really off-the-beaten-path location. The staff were absolutely wonderful, the breakfast was just as great, and the hotel itself was incredibly comfortable. Even though the location wasn't ideal, it's perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all for a few days, which is exactly what we were after. We truly loved everything about this hotel...

Wonderful 5 day stay at Purana for our honeymoon. The people who staff the resort are so very friendly and helpful. A highlight was the boat trip to Kong Island and also riding around the island in the resort’s Honda scooter with sidecar.

Purana It's boring. You can't walk anywhere. The hotel is on a hill. There is a beach, but no water. Powerful low tides. The water is muddy. This place is just perfect and we had a wonderful time: private villa yet a “real place” - an island with primary schools, mosques, football ground, plenty of places to eat (La Sala being my absolute favorite!) and warm smiling people. I can’t follow the accommodation aside from the fact the food menu can be slightly overpriced for what is given the food isn’t made fresh and definitely reheated. My partner and I recently stayed here and it was phenomenal. The staff were exceptional and extremely friendly. The food was amazing, the resort offered a variety of both Thai and Western style food. Peaceful place Cozy cottage village in a peaceful area. Good pool areas. A rooster crowed in the mornings, which was charming in its own way. The breakfast buffet was adequate. The rooms were clean, but the bathroom smelled of sewage. The friendly dogs in the cottage village were a plus. I will stay here again if I return to the country. The lady running The Mouth was very warm, friendly and helpful. The room was ultra clean and breakfast tasty and as much as you could eat. I stayed here for one night and there was a beautiful sweet lady that helped me a lot with interesting locations to see in this calm town. As for the hotel, I had a great view from the window on it, and the rooms are quite large for an average hotel. It was clean, nice smelling and very safe too. The hotel itself is also located near a gas station and a large 7-eleven store.

We arrived by bus (800bat from terminal 2 Phuket town) to this Small village to find a James Bond Island tour with locals (Not those tour that you can find in Phuket town or even worst in Patong). The accommodation was great, and the location was excellent, right in the heart of the city. There's no parking at the hotel, but you can park in public areas. I really liked the hotel. It's cozy, quiet, and very clean, with lots of birds singing beautifully. The beach is gorgeous, and it's deserted. There aren't many sun loungers by the beach, but there are plenty for everyone, as the hotel's guests are mostly foreigners, and they lounge by the pool. We've already decided to return next year. It’s okay. However, the wifi does not reach the room, the service is only available until about 11am and they cannot book anything for you, the patio of your room only has teo plastic chairs that aren’t very comfortable and the shower is very very weak and old. All in all it’s not bad, but the resorts around it seem a bit better.

It is a relaxing place to stay, away from busy streets. You have to walk as the resort is slightly far from the beach. Breakfast is good, I like the pancake with banana and honey! I was very tired but there aren’t any people in the reception. I waited for so long. The good thing is they allowed me to stay earlier than the check in time. The room is a bit dirty and the toilet light is broken. Smelly too.

Beautiful resort, and the staff were great! Definitely great value and would recommend for anyone visiting Khao Lak. Very relaxed vibe, and not overcrowded like some resorts in Thailand. Also really great massages by the beach (only 500THB per hour!). Next time I think I would book a deluxe room instead of a Bungalow.

Rooms are a mixed bag. Some in need of updating with leaky air con units, discoloured bath and bathroom floor, poor shower, BUT you don't spend much time in there. Almost private beach - 3 hotels and couple of restaurants. Nice pool. Beautiful gardens. Good sized rooms. Traditional Thai. Lots of dark wood. Outdoor dining. I prefer a more modern hotel and brighter, lighter decor. That’s just a preference. Mostly male staff. Thai staff can’t do enough to help. Didn’t get this vibe here.

Yes, the hotel has seen better days, but overall it was still decent for the price, and above all, clean. We didn't have any issues with brown water or loose objects in or around the pool. The rooms and villa was very tired and lacking freshness - wallpaper peeling off walls, damp patches, stains ont he celing, and walls, patches were paintings once hung and a general sense that the whole place needed a lcik of paint and some TLC.
