Cihangir Palace in Istanbul

This is a 1 star hotel, the moment we got in we saw the biggest cockroach in my life. No water supply in the room, no kettle, no hot water, breakfast is on the 6th floor, very scanty, only one cereal, no options to choose from. Watermelon spoilt. Only one lift in the building that cannot take more than 2 people and a bag at a time. The toilet is so small, tiles on the shower, very slippery, risks of falls .Only one receptionist that goes out to smoke all day. Could not speak English. Their lobby is very small with 3 dirty chairs. If you want comfort don't book this hotel. They don't even deserve a star!!!

It was a very horrible experience, and the staff are not helping at all. The room is very untidy and the breakfast is not good at all.

Accommodation
Rooms are custom designed with elegant decor and modern comforts. Not elegant or modern)Each comes with air conditioning, WiFi, a flatscreen TV with satellite channels, and tea and coffee making facilities. No tea and coffee facilities) Additional amenities include a minibar, safety deposit box, (no mini bar or safety box) and private bathroom complete with toiletries, hairdryer, and slippers.
Food and drink
When it comes to dining, guests can start their day with a rich breakfast buffet. A restaurant serves delicious meals throughout the day, (breakfast room not restaurant is only open for 2 hours in the morning) while the lobby bar provides a relaxing spot for drinks and refreshments. (Lobby is a dark space with a sofa and 2 chairs).Room service is also available for those preferring to dine in private. (No room service).
The hotel is depressing and the photos do not show the real condition of this run down hotel. Rooms are small, furniture is old and broken, flooring needs attention. Towels worn and have holes, quilt did not fit the bed.

1. There was no ironing facility available.
2. The room did not have a safe, which forced us to carry our valuables with us at all times.
3. We booked a deluxe room through Booking.com, but what we got was a small, cramped room with nothing but beds and a tight bathroom that only had cheap soap. The listing claimed the room included a safe, ironing facilities, and a laptop safe — none of which were provided.
4. Room service was extremely poor. The bed sheets were never changed during our five-night stay.
5. There wasn't even a garbage bin in the room.
6. Only one staff member could speak English, which made communication difficult.
7. The view from the room was of a narrow, noisy street.
8. While the hotel is within walking distance of Taksim Square, the steep and unpleasant ramp makes it nearly impossible to walk—especially with children.
9. The beds were uncomfortable and not suitable for a restful sleep.
10. We paid a price that could have easily covered a much better hotel. Later, we discovered the actual cost of this hotel was less than half of what we paid.
11. Our stay here truly ruined our visit to Turkey. The hotel was neither comfortable nor safe.
12. The walls were paper-thin, and we could hear every footstep and door from outside, making it difficult to sleep.
13. The reception area looked more like a bathroom than a hotel
This hotel was a huge disappointment. I would never consider staying here again—even if it were offered for free.
