My best choice ever, I traveled to Turkey more than forth times, i went before last travel and stayed in this hotel for 6 days, really i loved it, amazing rooms and i really loved the spa, i had the best massage ever. And the last travel i forgot the name of the hotel but i knew the way to arrive there, i insisted to reserve a room there and i did it, and i promise you will see me again and again. Highly recommended.

Broken bed. Rude manager.

Disastrous Stay.

Avoid at all costs.

The only good thing is location. My stay at this hotel was awful. The "manager" was rude and unhelpful. The bed in my room was broken see in the video. The aisles have a strong of paint due to ongoing work, making the environment unbearable. This hotel is clearly one of the worst ones I've been in.

Save your money.

Very unprofessional and bad behaviour from the receptionist, he doesn’t know how to act in front of customers. He start screaming and yelling when we asked gently why they cannot apply for the late checkout when we have already bought this option. We asked to discuss with his manager to discuss this matter and he threatened to call the police instead to talking with us.
Ovoid staying in this hotel because there is no respect to the customers.

Nice friend employees but the room no value for money. Try to avoid staying as we found dirty room and plenty upgrades required (sockets, barhroom, new furniture…etc). Very poor hygiene on the room that cockroach 🪳 going around.
Definitely not recommended.

The pictures will tell a little about the condition of property. Also very bad and slow customer service. Heater and air conditioning is central and it's their choice when and what temperature they keep it. We were so hot in April but they said they can't turn it on until summer. All istanbul was really rude and non mannered people, so you should expect this from this hotel too. Location was okay however the noise is very bad. You cannot sleep much! Shower was very slow drain, no one fixed it. No soap for dishes or laundry.

BEWARE!

First of all, this is NOT a 5-star hotel. Under ideal circumstances it is at best a 2-star hotel. Circumstances were not ideal during our stay & we had a “luxury suite”.

The hotel is dingy, decayed & desperately in need of renovation. Even from the official photographs one can see it was last decorated in the 90s. Whilst that is not a time period known for style, looking past style, the building & furnishings have not been maintained, much less replaced when needed since the 90s.

Every bit of the building & everything therein is crumbling, chipped, cracked, torn, stained & decayed from age & neglect.

The carpets, for example, should have been burned & the ashes scattered a decade ago.

The refrigerator door wouldn’t close. Rather than repair it, the door was held by forcing into position & locking a cheap dead bolt. Naturally this was of the lowest possible quality to ensure the edges were dangerously sharp. In retrospect, perhaps this was a style choice, an effort to maintain conformity with the rest of the askew cabinet door hanging loosely at odd angles.

The rickety toilet was fixed to the wall at an angle so that one tilted to the right when sitting on it.

The shower (when working) leaked.

Soap in the bathrooms was supplied by cheap plastic dispensers tacked to the walls, loose enough to fall off when used. The soap itself appeared to have been purchased from a motorway petrol station.

The floor of the balcony was made of some sort of fibreglass material that one bucked underfoot. It did not seem safe to stand on, but did enjoy the view of a sliver of the Golden Horn above the bins where stray cats fought over refuse.

The free breakfast was absurdly meagre. For example, the “pancake breakfast” consisted of 3 reheated Scotch pancakes about 4 cm in diameter, served with half a teacup of fruit. That “hearty” breakfast snack came with a tiny cup of watery coffee, presumably from a hospital vending machine. After the first “free breakfast” we ate out.

All of this shabbiness could be somewhat forgiven were it not for the fact that everything from the 5th floor up was being renovated. Literally everything was being stripped out all the way down to the frame. Whilst that was manifestly necessary the hotel should have been closed.

The sound of jackhammers, industrial pneumatic drills & the pounding of sledgehammers filled the hours from morning to night. Forget having a nap.

Every day reception would claim that “works stop tomorrow”. Works never stopped, not even on a Sunday.

On day three the hot water went out in the entire hotel. This presumably had to do with the leaking pipework laid bare in reception. I thought there was going to be a riot.

The only “positives” were that the beleaguered staff was friendly (though visibly embarrassed) & the hotel is in a good location. That’s not enough to make one stay here. There are a lot of hotels in the area. Choose any other one.

Spacious rooms with the basic necessities. The availability of the washing machine was great due to its high need during trips. Had a small kitchenette with a stove and small fridge. Unfortunately one of the ACs wasn't working, besides the ironing machine didn't work too!. The kettle drips water so we couldn't use it. The location is very convenient. Breakfast was not bad (very limited options). I don't think this is a 5 stars hotel. Staff were helpful and welcoming.

Very close to the Galata tower (during my visit the tower was under reconstruction so that didn’t help). The staff don’t attend during late night/early morning so that’s something to note. The private room was a little small, but you can’t beat the price with that. The staff can be overwhelmed because they have guests and customers for their shop at ground floor but they are friendly really try their best to help you.

I was so surprised when i saw my room and big bed! Rooms are not very big but it’s cozy. You can’t beat the location - walking distance to everything. And of course loved the hospitality of the owners. This was so refreshing comparator to big hotels. I would like to come back and for this price it will be always on my radar

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel near Galata Tower! The personal touch from the staff made all the difference in the world. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The location couldn't have been better – just a stone's throw away from the iconic Galata Tower, which made exploring Istanbul a breeze. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the heart of Istanbul.

Cozy, quaint, affordable, clean, good bed, good water pressure and heat, good climate control, super friendly and accommodating guy to check in with. You can tell he genuinely wants to make sure you are taken care of. More than I need to be happy at this price. Not sure if there is a cafe here or if breakfast is served, didn't ask. The friendly guy has tea available and offers every time you go in or out. No elevator but if you are walking around this part of Istanbul you can handle it. A bit of noise from the street until about 10 or 11pm, but again, remember what part of town you are in. You get in via a jewelry shop, not super obvious from the street but trust Google maps and be observant when you are close.

Fantastic boutique hotel in excellent location for shopping, bookstores, cafe society! Very French, in charm and hospitality and cuisine. Charming boutique hotel Close to Galeta Tower but on a quiet cobbled side street with antique shops & cafes. Lovely rooftop restaurant, perfect for breakfast or dinner or coffee with sweeping view of Golden Horn. Staff is very welcoming and helpful (I didn’t understand the shower!) (the came right up and showed me!) Our room was very comfortable & quiet.

A nice boutique hotel. We have had amazing experiences in the previous times I had been there with my wife. However the last time would probably be the last time because the pricing is just absurd. It is the inflation that is the biggest problem, but George Hotel milked this situation for every Cent or Lira in this case. The service is still impeccable, the rooms have so little privacy even with my partner it feels awkward at times, everything is within walking distance which is great, however, I don't think it is worth the price anymore... Value for money is just not there no matter how good of a service they have, the hotel feels worn out a bit, stiched together in places. I still love it, had the best memories years ago. But my last visit a couple of weeks still stings. In all fairness, if all you care about is service and accessibility to everything and price is not an issue nor is privacy. This hotel is for you. Otherwise you are better off somewhere else

My wife and I have spent wonderful time in Georges Hotel. The place is chic and beautiful, the service is very welcoming and helpful. The top terrasse restaurant view and food quality make it difficult to go elsewhere for dining. We've been blessed to discover that hotel. It's location make it so convenient to walk around the city historic neighbouroug and beyond.
15.11.2025 Peter
Location is absolutely amazing, but we were lied about the room as we reserved a sea view with balcony but have received a “garden” view which smells like cat piss when you open the balcony. They said they have received a different type of reservation by the service provider and were showing a flying paper with a room code which responds to a normal room, which means nothing to us.

The rooms have molded floors around the bathroom, smell like mold and the view is non existent.

Bathroom ceilings are molded and when you take a shower the whole bathroom area has couple of centimeters of water. The shower was broken as well.

The beds are on the lower side of the comfort as well and the room isolation is like a cardboard.

Absolutely an awful experience and would not recommend despite the good location. I am leaving pictures so anyone can be a judge (can’t leave the scent unfortunately). It’s a 3 star hotel at the absolute most and don’t know how they got 4… maybe few years ago, but now everything is run down.

The manager Georges repeats 10 times how everything can be arranged and have a nice experience, but actually takes no action at all.

The staff tries to be nice and helpful but does nothing as well, probably because of management.

Note:
As a reply to the comment below, since its not possible to respond. We are free to do what we like stay or not, comment or not. Despite the wrong reservation, i left photos which has nothing to do with the reservation but just showing the real image of the hotel. So everyone can be a judge.

Really lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Galata!

I stayed at Georges Hotel Galata for five nights and had a great experience. The location is perfect: steps from Galata Tower and all the energy of Beyoğlu, with Karaköy's waterfront just down the hill.

The rooms have beautiful high ceilings that make the space feel elegant and airy. The showers are wonderful, and I loved the thick towels and sheets (plus there's a heated towel warmer, which is a nice touch). PRO TIP: ask for a room on the garden side if you can. The neighbourhood is lively and bustling, but the garden-facing rooms are surprisingly quiet.

What really stood out was the service. The concierge staff are genuinely kind and helpful, not just going through the motions. They made reservations at local restaurants for us and gave great recommendations. When I had a plumbing issue in my room, the manager Mr. Serkan personally checked on it multiple times and made sure everything was handled professionally. That level of attention makes a real difference.

Oh, and there's a charming resident cat named Lollipop who adds personality to the place

The rooftop bar has spectacular views and excellent cocktails. If you're looking for boutique luxury with personal service in the Galata area, I'd definitely recommend Georges Hotel.
