I stayed at Hotel Mara İstanbul in a single room, and I honestly thought it was such a cute and cozy place. The room was comfortable, clean, and perfect for a solo stay in the city. The staff were so kind and welcoming, even with the language barrier since most of them speak Turkish. They were always polite, patient, and helpful whenever I needed something.
The location is amazing. You’re right by İstiklal Street, close to tons of shops, cafés, and restaurants, and there’s even a supermarket directly downstairs which made everything super convenient. It really made the stay feel easy and stress-free.
The only small things to note are that the walls are a bit thin and the room heater/AC can be tricky to manage, especially if you’re visiting in winter like I did in December. But overall, it’s a great, affordable, comfortable hotel in the perfect area.
I would definitely stay here again.

The only good thing about this hotel is its excellent location, but unfortunately, that doesn't make up for the poor stay. The hygiene was disappointing as the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned and I found stains on the linens and hair on the floor. It was also very difficult to rest because of the outdated, noisy air conditioning and the lack of soundproofing, which meant I could hear everything through the pipes and loud noise from the hallways early every morning (5AM).

The hotel is so-so, completely smoke-filled, there is a cafe right downstairs near the entrance where Turks sit and smoke, and the hotel is like an exhaust pipe, all the smoke flows through the hotel, this is the main drawback, the linens are old, the plumbing leaves much to be desired, but otherwise it’s okay to spend the night.

Great location (but not for those who like silence, because the hotel is right on Istiklal Boulevard)
Good staff and a fairly cozy room with all the amenities.

Very good stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the staff is friendly and always available. The location is convenient and the value for money is excellent. I highly recommend it.

The rooms were very small we didn’t have a place to walk.
Even the bathroom was so small
The bed was so tiny we couldn’t sleep normally with the stres if we fall to the ground in the middle of night.
The staff wasn’t friendly at all
The breakfast wasn’t tasty and it didn’t have option to choice
The walls were very thin we heard every noise outside our room
And this place was like burdelo there were a line of men’s waiting to get massage by two women’s
I can say that is not a place to go with your family
The only good thing was the internet
And that this motel was in the city center

From our warm welcome by mr Nadir to the impeccable recommendations and clean room! Every detail was perfect. The attentive staff went above and beyond, and the serene atmosphere made for a truly rejuvenating stay. The location was perfect for exploring Istanbul! We were so pleased and look forward to returning.

Amazing Hotel, was here in October 2024 with my family and they treated me with amazing care, amazing food and a friendly atmosphere. Even though it was a bit compact all rooms were all clean and always managed to help us when we first entered the country and left. Helped us organise stuff to do around Istanbul like cruises across the ocean and more and was more then a service but was a good friend. Excellent choice if your staying in Istanbul.

This is my first time visiting Istanbul and I am very happy with the conditions of this hotel.
Overall maximum grade.
For perfectionists you will probably always find many disadvantages, but if you want a hotel placed in a very good area, with a very good breakfast buffet, at a very good price and with a staff worthy of appreciation - I highly recommend this hotel.
I've been here for 3 days and I'll stay a few more days.
One mistake on the part of the receptionist (For which I have all the respect and I give it the highest grade for kindness) was that he passed me the POS payment note in Turkish lira instead of the euro conversion and initially I paid much less than I should have to pay.
They checked later and it was fixed immediately.
All respect for the reception and the people in the kitchen.
I read several reviews before choosing this hotel and many of the negative reviews are not true. The hotel has been renovated and is still being refurbished.
Grade 10 from me. I am convinced that the staff does everything possible to make you feel at home. 🇹🇷🇹🇩
