Residence Le Reve in Istanbul

Location is the only good thing about this place. Dingy rooms, worn out furniture and unsanitary toilets is how I would describe this place. It was cheaper than other hotels may be this is why. Photos online do not do justice to the actual situation of the rooms. Staff is not very helpful either. We got stuck on 1st May owing to blocked roads in Taksim that would lead up to this hotel. We asked the staff why did he not inform us about the blocked roads beforehand, the response was bizarre - other guests came so we thought it’s okay. My husband and I were the only people that day in the entire hotel. I’ll recommend to stay away from this place.

Very friendly and helpfull staff. Quite clean. And thats all. Rooms requires some serious refurbishmenent. Some windows cannot be opened at all, other cannot be closed. Location is very noisy; as located close to the steep road, during night you can hear constant roar of the engines while another vehicle is trying to climb up the hill.

Where do I start? This place is an absolutely disgusting disaster. Not at all as advertised, very dirty, mold, water damage.. I've been traveling heavily for 15 years and I have never been to such a poorly kept property. The owner (or boss, I'm not sure) is extremely arrogant and unhelpful.
-there is severe water damage on the ceiling
-the heating does not work properly
-therefore there is bad condensation on the windows and also mold in the bathroom
-the room was not cleaned well, sticky fingerprints everywhere, rusty keys in the bathroom shelf, dirty and stained couch, super dirty and disgusting remotes, without batteries
-dirty and stained towels
-there is a very bad smell coming from the drain in the bathroom
-they keep a dog chained up outside day and night. There is no terrace with tables and chairs as in the advertisements, only a dirty area where this poor dog is forced to sit all day (he is friendly though, the best and most welcoming thing about this place tbh)
- cabinets broken, no handles
- the narrow staircase is cluttered with stuff, dirty Kleenex, nobody cleans it up (the dirty Kleenex was there for days)
- light bulbs are half burned out
We moved to another property because it was so bad, I have asthma and it is dangerous for me to be in a room with mold. We contacted our booking platform to try to get a refund. The owner/boss refused a refund but instead entered the room (while we were still paying to rent it) started defrosting the fridge, left the door wide open, with water all over the floor... Even though we were still paying for this time, and we had not yet checked out. We were absolutely shocked. I strongly do not reccomend this property. There are so many other great places in Istanbul, don't waste your money on this disaster.

the worst hotel and baddest experience i had in Istanbul,
they cancelled my reservation few hours before, with no reason, which was booked and confirmed, i paid more money and spent more time and effort to find another hotel immediately for my family
