Apollo Hotel in Birmingham

Sorry, but that's not a good option...the food is mediocre..every 3 minutes the waiter passed by the table, looking for us like "when are you leaving guys?" Then he brought the bill before we ask ... terrible experience ...£37 for two people...not worth of it at all... definitely you can have a better experience elsewhere!

Called into the Beefeater yesterday afternoon for a bite to eat.

When the food came, the chips were stone cold so they got sent back.

As the kitchen area is open you can see the food being prepared and I heard the Manager chase up the chef for the replacement chips after already waiting a while. Sadly the Manager didnt bother to come over to say sorry and try to assure us that the food was on its way.

So once the chips were ready, they just sat there on the counter for another 10 mins waiting for someone to bring the them over!!!

Hence when they did get finally get brought over they were also cold and I'd already finished the rest of my meal.

The server was apologetic - and had the replacement food been hot and served quickly, then that would have sufficed.

However as the replacement chips were also cold, and they took so long to arrive, i had to suggest to her that she should remove the cost of my meal from the bill, which she did.

It wasn't particularly busy in there so I expected service to be quite swift - but in my experience it seemed disorganised and the staff seemed a little too complacent and not attentive enough.

Shame really - as there are plenty of other restaurants close by, to choose from - so you'd expect that this Beefeater would want to try to offer a good dining experience in order to drive repeat Business.

Sadly, this doesn't seem to be the case.
