I arrived after minor surgery looking a right state, but had laughter with reception. Both gentlemen were really helpful and professional. The bed and the pillows were so comfortable. I literally wanted to take the pillows with me they were so perfect.
Breakfast staff were so courteous and lovely. Would definitely recommend.

I stayed at this hotel for 7 days and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, beautiful backyard garden,
Housekeeping was excellent, and breakfast was delicious with fresh baked pastries every morning.

The reception team Amila, Baron, Davide, Felix, Ida, Andrea, Sithara, and Janos, were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and kitchen team Krishna, Tea, Erangi, Tidi, and Menta, did a fantastic job every morning.

Great location near three underground stations, with many cafés and restaurants nearby. A lovely hotel in a quiet and pleasant area. Highly recommended.

Booked for my friend John who stayed for 2 nights. "Amazing place and people" he said. The bar and garden was beautiful
Baron and everyone at the reception was there for their every need and made it feel like home. He also loved how close the hotel was close to all the exciting places.

Room temperature should be looked at.

My wife and me are medical doctors and academia members who travel extensively worldwide, averaging approximately 50 trips per year.

We often choose boutique hotels and are well aware of the compromises they sometimes entail. This property, however, exceeded any reasonable tolerance.

The Academy- Small Luxury Hotels of the World is marketed as a 5-star establishment, a claim that is both misleading and unjustified. There is no elevator, and the room we were assigned was a cramped attic space on the 5th floor. While stairs are not an issue for us personally ( we are alpinists), the room itself was markedly below acceptable standards.

More concerning were the clear signs of water damage from a leaking roof. Mold and mildew were visible and poorly concealed with fresh paint — an issue that is unacceptable in any hotel and particularly troubling from a health perspective.

This was not a luxury experience by any definition. Although the staff were polite, they were ineffective and unwilling to meaningfully address our concerns.

Overall, the experience felt misleading and deeply disappointing, especially in a city such as London. We have not stay there and cannot recommend The Academy- Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

As a retired hotelier with over 42 years of experience managing prestigious establishments in the hospitality industry, In a five star environment throughout the world,I felt compelled to express my heartfelt appreciation for the extraordinary experience my wife, Clare, and I had during our recent stay at your hotel.

In my years in this profession, I have always emphasized the invaluable role of team members in creating a memorable guest experience. We quickly realized that we had discovered a true oasis—one that felt like a home away from home. The comfort, warmth, and inviting atmosphere were precisely what we needed during a particularly stressful time, as Clare prepared for a nerve injection.

The care and attention bestowed upon us by your team made an indelible impression. I want to particularly highlight the exceptional service provided by Baron, Felix, Andrea, Ida, Davide, and the wonderful breakfast team, including the talented sisters, Tea. Their genuine hospitality and thoughtful gestures transformed our stay and exemplified the hidden heroes of your establishment. They are not only a credit to your hotel but also shining ambassadors for the hospitality industry as a whole. there was so many incredible experiences too many to mention.

I cannot overstate how much we looked forward to returning to this welcoming environment after our daily activities. It reinforced the notion that a true home from home can be found in the most unexpected places.

Thank you once again for an unforgettable experience. We look forward to returning in the future.

First of all, The Academy Hotel was a lovely place to visit for the weekend trip to London. The rooms were really clean too although there was a few scratches here and there. Other then that, it was a great experience.

The bar looks stunning and the service is amazing. Great selection of cocktails. Daniella the waitress was extremely friendly and helpful giving us the best advices choosing the cocktails. We had a lovely night celebrating my birthday. Definitely coming back.

The restaurant has a nice, if slightly unusual (quite dark!) ambience. The food and service are good, but the menu is expensive. Portion sizes are good and filling. Good drinks menu.

Had a lovely time..the atmosphere was lovely and staff very friendly and gave great service. Food was also amazing. Could barely finish my mains (duck) because the prawn toast starters were so filling. Then went downstairs to the bar which was fun and not too packed on a Friday night. Would definately visit again.

What can I say. Food here is absolutely amazing! Great location, amazing decor and friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable. It also has a fantastic bar down stairs which made some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Great for couples, families and large groups.

The food was very nice and the price for two ... reasonable with a bottle of water mind you, water was 4.95. But I guess you can ask for tap water which I believe to be free.

Having looked at the pictures before going. It was the boutique decor that sold it to me, I like to dine in places that look nice as well as good reviews on food.

The decor upstairs was nice.
Downstairs at the bar was also nice but didn't live up to my expectations.
Was very nice but stools could do with renewal or repair on some as they were slightly damaged.
Booths were a lovely touch and luckily I managed to get one.
Red carpet on stairs could do with being replaced.

Bar staff were lovely and accompanying.
Cocktails were very nice and worth the money. Made by bar staff who know what they are doing.

Overall food and drink was very good and one again reasonably priced.
The place is not pretentious at all.
Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of minor amendments mentioned.
I definitely will be back to revisit with friends, hopefully over the weekend!
