Reviews
Could Have Been a Great Stay, But the Experience Was Extremely Disappointing
I genuinely wanted this to be a positive experience, but unfortunately it turned into one of the most frustrating hotel situations I’ve encountered.
Due to airline cancellations beyond my control, I contacted the hotel in advance to cancel and rebook my reservation. When I called and emailed, I was repeatedly told that the staff responsible for processing cancellations was not available and that the next shift would need to handle it. Despite being assured someone would contact me, no one ever did.
I followed up multiple times. By the time I finally reached someone who could assist, I was informed that I was now outside the cancellation window and would be charged the full $1,500 reservation amount. Had my original request been handled when I first contacted the hotel, I would have been well within the cancellation period. My intention was never to avoid payment—I simply wanted the opportunity to rebook my stay.
Since the full charge was applied, we decided to stop by the property to at least use the room for a few hours to shower and rest before continuing our travels. Unfortunately, the situation became even more disappointing when we were assigned the wrong room, resulting in there not being adequate accommodations or beds for our entire party.
What is most frustrating is that this situation appears to have resulted from internal communication and customer service failures rather than any action on our part. We made every effort to notify the hotel promptly and work toward a reasonable solution.
I hope management reviews this situation and considers a refund or other resolution. I would much rather update this review to reflect excellent customer service and a fair outcome than leave it as a record of what was otherwise a very disappointing experience.
From the second I walked in, I felt incredibly welcome.
Every single person — from the front desk and the housekeeping team to the staff in the restaurant—was absolutely BRILLIANT.
It’s rare to see such a high level of service across the board, and it really made my visit special.
Please pass on my thanks to the whole team for looking after me so well.
I’m already looking looking forward to my next visit!
A special mention to:

Carmen & Khesama - Palm Court
Kamel & Mounsir - Guest Services.

Rooms and the building are beautiful and luxurious and location is great— easy to walk to regents park and Oxford street and loads of restaurants and cafes nearby.
Service is outstanding. Everyone was pleasant and most people addressed me by name. It was the attention to detail that really got me— they would leave additional water when they saw that I finished the provided bottles, they arranged my toiletries on a separate tray to keep it organized, and left fruit and candy for me to enjoy.
The food I’ve had is decent. I’ve only tried the room service, but it’s been pretty good. I wish they had a more extensive menu. I will say, this is the only area that’s a bit lacking, I’ve noticed they’ve overcharged me or incorrectly billed me a few times for in-room dining, however they’re quick to fix any errors and the rest of the experience is so lovely that I’m willing to overlook it.
The Culinary Highs and Lows
The dining experience was a tale of two extremes.
The Highlight: The Langham Burger was truly fantastic—cooked to perfection and arguably the best part of the stay.
The Disappointment: Breakfast was a major letdown. While the hash browns and sausages were decent, the bacon was almost inedible—tough, overcooked, and difficult to eat. For a hotel of this caliber, you expect every element of the most important meal of the day to be executed flawlessly.
Restless Nights & Service Failures
The biggest issue was the lack of sleep. At 3:00 AM on both Wednesday and Thursday, I was awoken by loud noises. In a premium five-star environment, peace and quiet are the bare minimum requirements, yet the disturbance persisted across two nights.
The way the management handled the situation only added to the frustration:
The Delay: After complaining about the noise, I was offered a different suite. However, the Duty Manager failed to respond for over 30 minutes.
The Inconvenience: I eventually had to leave my room, travel down nine floors to reception, and complain in person just to get a resolution. When you are paying for luxury service, you shouldn’t have to hunt down staff in the middle of the night to have your concerns addressed.
Final Verdict
This was meant to be a special birthday treat, but it ended in disappointment. While the property is beautiful and the burger was a win, the poor breakfast quality, unacceptable noise levels, and sluggish management response times mean The Langham fell well short of its five-star reputation this time.
I had an amazing stay at The Langham, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of the staff. First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the front desk team, Melissa and Pallmeet, for their warm welcome upon my arrival. Their efficiency in handling my check-in process was impressive, making the experience seamless and pleasant. Melissa’s attention to detail stood out as she remembered my preferences, which made me feel truly valued and at home. Their enthusiasm extended to my departure, ensuring that my check-out process was just as smooth. This level of service reaffirmed my decision to return to The Langham in the future.
During a delightful conversation with Melissa,I learned about her genuine passion for the hotel, and it was inspiring to see someone who genuinely enjoys their work. I strongly believe that employees who love their workplace naturally provide better service, and Melissa is a perfect example of this. Perhaps this is part of The Langham’s charm—not only does it attract guests, but it also creates an environment where employees take pride in their work.
Additionally, I am deeply grateful to Office Duty Manager Nanyu Nanev, who went above and beyond to assist me when I stored my luggage. His kindness and willingness to solve any issues reassured me, making my onward journey much more secure. His efficiency and professionalism left a lasting impression, and I truly respect his dedication to providing outstanding service.
Overall, my experience at The Langham was nothing short of exceptional, and I look forward to returning to this wonderful hotel in the future.
