Unfortunately this was not a good experience for my family. We arrived at 730pm and rang the outside bell for 5 minutes and no one let us in. Another guest happened to be coming back and let us in. The room was older and not quite as advertised (the 2nd full bed was a full sized mattress on the bottom of a twin bunk so it was hanging off the side). Our biggest challenge was the cat. It wasn’t clear that the owner had a cat (I should have asked as 3 of us are allergic but I didn’t think to). The owner said the cat doesn’t go into the rooms but within 5 minutes our eyes were red and the sneezing started. We decided to stay at a hotel down the road. Regardless of the cat the overall vibe wasn’t what we had hoped for given the price/area.

Overpriced
Our room was in the basement quarters and was sort of dank. Mildewy smelling. The towels were old and scratchy. The carpet was not so clean. I feel like this room would have been worth it for $150. Not $450 that was paid. It just felt like a run down bb. To be fair, I didn’t see the main house quarters. Maybe those are nicer but overall, I was extremely disappointed for the price we paid. For the price they are charging, you’d expect a top notch room.

There was random food sitting on a table outside the door in the hallway. The windows were drafty.

The staff was very friendly and the location is great but just know, the at least some of the rooms are very musty and outdated.

Notting Hill charm
Amazing location in the heart of Notting Hill and everything close, incl several tube stops. Old house but very charming and the service was great. Nice breakfast service in the rooms and friendly staff. Special thanks to Alexandra who made our stay very pleasant.

Terrible bar - went for nye was half empty most of the drinks I ordered were wrong (how can you mess up a g&t!). Card machine didn’t work downstairs couldn’t order drinks on the ground floor because of the terrible layout - a great example of how not to run a bar.

Beautiful restaurant with plenty of rooms to explore and a few fireplaces. We had a lovely waiter by the name Octavian who looked after us very well, his service was impeccable! The food was okay, didn’t rock our world but it was nice. We had prawns for starter. I had sea bass for main, which was a very small portion and little over cooked. My friend had a seafood linguini which was quite tasty and had a generous amount of seafood in it.

The interior is lovely and a great setting for a party but that’s really where it ends. The food was basic at best.

We were served the strangest coloured scrambled eggs (saffron coloured) and asked for it to be changed but the waiter insisted that was the natural colour of egg and white wasn’t. We insisted he called the chef and the chef admitted to adding a yellow spice to it. The waiter was rude and ill-mannered. They only get points for the decor.

Great food. Awesome decor and atmosphere. Food service was slow, but we were not hungry and not in a rush. Service was respectful and not too involved - I prefer it that way.

A Castle pubs chain which means a reliability excellent range of well kept keg and cask ale, decent pub grub and SecretDJ so you can put songs on the jukebox from your phone. Top notch.

This place is RACIST.
I wasn't allowed because my ID is not from an european country so they said they couldn't check my age. (The birth date is clearly shown in english in my ID)
I'm 31 one years old with beard and almost bold, it was clearly an excuse.
I will find out if what they have done is illegal and start the corresponding legal actions.

Craft ales, good food at reasonable prices, real beer garden. Good buzz of conversation and music at a level that doesn't force people to shout at each other. What's not to like? For an inner London pub this is winner.
